His mother is extremely guilty and it's appalling that she did nothing and received no punishment. This case literally makes me feel ill.

It makes my blood boil how a peaceful hippie like Josh got the book thrown at him over some weed and shrooms. Meanwhile, a psychotic monster like Pazouzu got nothing but slaps on the wrist for YEARS until a veteran got involved. The justice system is a joke.

But how could the mom live there with him and all that gross filth?? I mean she had a job to go to and wouldn’t they notice her foul smell??🤢

I was living about a quarter a mile away when this all went down. My ex and I used to walk by it every day on our daily walks. Crazy times.

It’s so crazy… I’m a ups driver and have delivered in that area for years…. I never delivered anything to his house though thank God! …. His neighborhood was actually kinda nice except his house. I know his neighbors were stoked when his house got demolished!

What he did was definitely horrible, but I just can't help but get this "I'm SO edgy" vibe based on the way he's described. The fact that he wrote the word devil/demon in arabic on his walls is just eyeroll-inducing. Like, we get it, Pazuzu.

His mother would go once a month to a pet store to buy a rabbit, to literally FEED this person's dark, inhumane desires? This just takes 'enabling' to an entirely new, disturbed, and unbelievable level. How about getting this kid some help of some sort!!! LIKE, YEARS BEFORE eating live rabbit hearts became a thing! The cops failed. That woman who went back and recorded the conversation was brave. I can’t even imagine continuing to go there knowing what he said.

I’d love to hear more first hand accounts from people who knew or interacted with this guy. He was severely disturbed and, in obvious hindsight, shouldn’t have been out among the community.

Concerned citizen: "This dude admitted to killing people." Cops: "We promise to do even less than the bare minimum." Second concerned citizen: "I also have heard this man admit to this." Cops: "We promise to do even less than the last time, which is nothing." Same concerned citizen: "Ok, this time, I have literal audio proof that the guy admitted to killing people." Cops: "Interesting, seems like someone should really look into it." Citizen: "..." Cops: "So how's your day?"

I'm physically sick with this one, not only he killed people, he kept 'over 15 cats and several dogs and snakes' In that house, enduring god knows what. and the mother got away without any charges, wow.

The most disturbing part of this story - in my view - is that, although two men went missing and even after two reports about dead bodies buried on the property, police were nonchalant and dismissive and never seriously probed the matter. Such a shame! It would seem to me that because these two men were poor, their disappearance was given very little attention by local authorities. As for Pazuzu, he had submerged himself in a place so dark that he lost all touch with reality and therefore was irredeemable.

The word "enabler" probably never was more on point than it was in this case.

the fact that his mother accepted his lifestyle in her own home is so disgusting to me. you have a son that won't shower or brush his teeth and allow him to trash your own house is just so disgusting. if his mom kicked him out, I would get it. but the fact that he still had the right to live there is still gross.

My lil brother was in Central Prison in Raleigh NC with Pazuzu. Dude used his teeth (which he had filed down to points) and bit his own wrist and bled to death! What a coward!

I had NEVER EVER heard of Pazuzu Algarad until this documentary. This one I found more disturbing than I expected. By the fact alone that he sacrificed rabbits every month and ate their hearts, it is horrifying. That alone made him serial killer material. And how in the HELL did this guy's mother allow him to live in such filth?

I worked with a girl who knew these people personally. She was actually in the vice interview about them, I have no idea how someone could have been friends with this group. I instantly dropped communication after I found out, something about the way she spoke of them made me uneasy. Like she had knew all along he had killed someone but didn’t care

The fact that there were women interested in "Pazuzu", tells me there's someone out there for everyone

What do you expect from someone named Pazuzu?! That's literally the name of the Wind Demon from The Exorcist.

This story always fascinated me in a morbid way. It's so difficult to wrap your head around the mother living with him and casually going to work and allowing this to grow to monstrous proportions. Pazuzu was outright deeply disturbed, but the mother scares me equally, if not even more. How could she possibly tolerate any of it with out being mentally ill herself.

His mother is the type of lady that are not suppose to have children.

Josh's trailer wasn't too many steps up from Pazuzu's home; obviously - given no other options but to choose between the two - I'd rather stay at Josh's, but still. Very interesting when considered from a state of mental health perspective. Josh's depression being reflected in the state of his home, and Pazuzu's significantly more critical mental state evident in *his* dwelling, shows in a way how much you can determine about a person's mental state by assessing their surroundings.

I met pazuzu back in 2010 when I worked at a grocery store in Clemmons. I’m from Winston Salem, which is a largish city right next to clemmons. In high school I knew people that knew him and had heard some wild and crazy stories about him but I’d never seen or met him myself then. I graduated in 09 and started working in clemmons in late 09. I remember the first time I saw him come through my line. I’d never seen a picture of him before but from what I’d heard, I knew exactly who I was looking at, and idk what possessed me to say his name but I did and he just turned his head and looked right at me. He frequently shopped there so on many occasions I saw him and talked to him. He even invited me to his house once and I never followed through on the offer. Believe it or not, despite his appearance he acted and spoke like anyone else you’ve ever met, he seemed normal. Well kinda. He would wear a purple suit a lot, to look like the joker, which is what he was for Halloween.

His mother was the a main reason. She was an instigator. She didn’t seem alarmed by her son becoming insane. She bought him rabbits to kill. She didn’t mind him using her house for what he did. She should have been charged with accomplice to murder

I'm from Winston-Salem, and I remember when this happened. Honestly, I'm not surprised in the least by it all. The mother's compliance, the police's incompetence, the gaggle of freaks who surrounded him. And people wonder why I left NC screaming at 18, now living in Ohio and refusing to go back. That state is a total nuthouse.

Here are some of my observations as an Arabic speaker. The Arabic writings on the wall at 5:58 read: "Satan's greetings", "powerful demon", "the demons are on the way", and "let it be". The Arabic word "إبليس" which translates into "Satan" is recurring in the graffiti. Something I found interesting is the similarity between "Algarad" and the Arabic word "الجراد", which translates into "the Locusts". It could be that Pazuzu intended for his name to be "Pazuzu, God of the Locusts" or some shit like that.

Then you find out she was complicit to murder, allowed her home to be a drug house, and lived in complete filth. How did her fellow workers not notice the stench, because she really had to smell like her environment. Creepy!

The fact that his ‘friends’ even stepped into a house like that or associated with someone so sick is very concerning. I imagine they too all need psychological help.

The fact that Pazuzu's mother more then likely purchased all of those animals knowing what he was going to use them for angers me beyond belief. However knowing that Pazuzu is now going through unspeakable horrors he'll never be able to escape from is pure justice for that.

I wondered why he changed his name and found that his name had an actual meaning. The demon Pazuzu was the Assyrian king of the demons of the wind. He was associated in particular with the southwest wind that brought droughts, famine and locusts. The surname 'Ilah Algarad' means the lord of the locusts in Arabic.

Pazuzu: "No Cops! No Authority!" Also Pazuzu: "This living room could really use a giant swastika on the ceiling because for some reason I support the nazi regime." He's a textbook edgelord. He saw anything that people thought was wrong or bad and without question adopted it into his philosophy, simply because it was edgy, completely disregarding the obvious conflicting ideals.

I watched the vice documentary. There’s no way his mother who lived in the house at the time of the murders didn’t know what was going on. She should be charged.

If someone is high or drunk but repeats saying that they "killed someone" you should probably report them. Police should also do better as they had multiple tip-offs, but still didn't investigate

VICE did a "The Devil You Know" season about this case and at the end, PAZUZU's mother refers to her son, a man who murdered multiple people, as a "good boy".

Viceland did a 5 or 6 episode (season 1) of a show called "The Devil You Know" that covers the entire case start to finish.

I saw an interview with his mom about a year ago and she still defends him, how could she let him run all over her like that??...She needs to be held accountable for some of this, she did absolutely nothing to stop this guy.

There are tons of people that suffer with mental health disorders and don’t kill people in cold blood and brag about it.
