Join Tommy Aldridge as he discusses the iconic drumming in the song "Over The Mountain" by Ozzy Osbourne. Tommy fondly recalls the joy of performing the song live with Randy and Ozzy. He praises the song's well-constructed drum part, which follows Randy Rhoads' lead and plays itself with its unique character. Randy encouraged Tommy to add his own touch, making the performance heavier and more impactful. 🤘🏼

He also has always gave credit for the drumming on the album to Lee Kerslake even though Sharon had him (Tommy) listed as the drummer on the release of the album. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Aldridge backstage on the 1988 Motley Crue / Whitesnake tour in Hampton, Virginia. He was a complete gentleman and singed my drum sticks and Whitesnake CD. He took about ten minutes to talk to me and answer my questions, as he was genuinely interested in my opinion about the show. He's such a class act! He hasn't changed a bit in over 30 years as he hits his kit like they owe him money. Legend.

I got to see him perform with Ozzy and Whitesnake and they never disappoint. "Over the Mountain" is one of my favorites, the drums and Randy's guitar just shred. Thanks, and much love.

This guy just blows my mind with his drumming. Hard hitting power house of a drummer. As much as I love Lee Kerslake's Original drummer on DOAM and BOO, my go to recordings are always the live versions with Tommy as they have more energy and you can see that in videos like After Hours. Thanks, Tommy, for keeping Randy's spirit alive. 73 years old and playing like a guy in his 20's. Fab stuff.

Just wow. I have no clue how a drummer can keep track of that much kit (same goes for RHCP sized pedal boards, lol). Tommy Aldridge makes it look effortless, but I’m sure he worked hard to became such an amazing drummer. Also, Tommy has no reason to apologize, but I love how he tips his hat to prior drummers and the musicians he worked with. Every musician can and should do their own interpretation while still respecting an iconic song and the musicians who came before. Tommy is a class act, which makes him a total pro. I hate when musicians are disrespectful to others and act big-headed - no matter how talented, you won’t win over the masses by being a jerk. Tommy is just one musician who is living proof that playing nice and working hard at his craft is a much better option.
