Jack is completely amazing!

Roman is the one I rewatch because he surprises me with his notes and his showmanship…he makes me soooo entertained… No he shouldn’t just sing the song…he lifts up the audience on every song he sings…he’s sharing his energy and it is contagious. His growth on stage is just as important as his natural talent…I didn’t expect him to be my favorite overall but in the end…each song has been a new interpretation.

After a day, Jack’s performance has stuck with me the most

Jack is on a different level. He can really sing to the audience. Very sophisticated and subtle at times. That he is understated is why some don’t hear his raw connection to old folk and a lot of people. He is the underdog for sure. Whatever happens in this glitzy overproduced world of music, his is the voice I want to hear more of. I like his humbleness and candidness.

I also felt Kaibrienne was a bit too focused on hitting her marks on the stage, which cost her some of what is her secret weapon: her authenticity.

Sure, the women gave some spectacular performances--what we hoped and expected they would sound like. Wonderful. Jack is unique; his rendition of Dylan was unexpected and soul-touching. I agree with Clark: he could win it all. I think he's what a majority of listeners want to hear and only begin to realize it afterward. Kudos to Jack!

Just remember that even if Jayna doesn't "win" she still can have a wonderful career and I hope it will help her do that. Idol winners often don't have a career because they weren't the best singer.

I LOVED what you had to say about people who think they can't sing!! Preach it! My sister taught voice for quite a few years and it drove her nuts to hear people say they couldn't sing. You're right--it's a muscle that you can exercise and improve, just like other muscles. That, and listening to yourself, can make a huge difference. I taught piano, so I didn't run into that exact mindset as often, but similar attitudes towards musicality. Or the idea that some people just have the gift and some people don't, and practice and effort don't really matter. Gah! Anyway, rant over, loved your take on that!

I think they should choose Kako. I didn’t care for this song but because he can pull together a group that writes clean, fun, dance music like the groups in the 70’s and 80’s. All the other singers are absolutely wonderful! But he is the most fun. I want a fun idol.

That was my favorite performance from Kaibriane. That song suited her sound perfectly, and she didn’t have the pitchy areas I keep herring from her.

Jack reminds me a little of Kris Allen. Not the same genre, but Kris kind of made faces too. And he took risks like Jack did tonight. My dad is not a Jack fan at al, not even close, but last night he loved his performance.

i don’t know what abi needs to do to not have her performances get nitpicked anymore. she did like two super well placed short runs in her performance (which was like 3x less than roman or jayne)c delivered a super contained and poisoned performance and you still wasn’t sold on it.

My favorites are Jayna and Nya. They have such smooth voices. I feel like Julia is constantly straining when she sings. Some people it feels like they’re going to crack and I feel that when I hear her sing.

I thought he appeared more connected then he felt. Great performance. But it felt like one for me.

R&B and Gospel just doesn't have the fan base to win a show like this anymore, and it's frustrated getting invested in vocal BEASTS like Roman, Jayna, and Nya knowing they probably won't make the final 10

I’ve been a fan of Jayna Elise since she was on AGT, if Toni Braxton and Fantasia’s voice came together it would be Jayna Elise. 100% agree that voters have over looked her. Hopefully the right people have seen her this season and she can start working on some projects in the future. I hear her making timeless records like Kesha Cole, Amerie etc

I have my favorites due to the music I listen to, but I would be happy regardless of who is this years idol. Singing.....not everyone can sing. I am so incredibly tone deaf. Of course I wish I could carry a tune, but I know my limitations. I'm going to have to hold on to my 50 bucks this time. Me carrying a tune has as much of a possibility as me winning the lottery jackpot. 😂

I hope this makes sense... The energy/vibe that Abi carries reminds me of Lea Michele. It presents as: she knows she's a good singer, and she just delivers a song like it's a job. And pretends to be emotional, but it's transparently an act. And I do think it comes off as arrogance, and the listening audience recognizes that and rejects it as well. I just don't buy into her when she sings.

Totally agree that Jordan’s arrangement choice sent him home. 😕 America tends to vote for the ‘sad back stories’ over voice. I think Nya showed a ton of self-confidence w/no sob story. Perhaps her downfall. She’ll kill it on Broadway though w/that big personality & voice. Loved loved loved Jayna’s beautiful Whitney song ‘cascading’ note change-ups. No sad story for Jayna, so could unfortunately mean an early exit. She’s a stellar singer tho! I thought Abi’s performance was captivating, yet thought that choice of high extended note on ‘horny back toad’ was a bit odd. Hi Clark, i agree with you on your top 10 except i would have put Jack Blocker in the number 2 spot. I also agree with your comments about the performances, particularly with this - Jayna best vocalist hands down and Abi pushing "look what i can do" and not really fully feeling the authentic emotions. I actually think she is being overhyped by Katy. Of course shes talented. I dont think anybody will argue with that but i have never once been moved by her. I always get the impression she is pushing too much. I will give an example of being deeply moved at the same time as recognizing how talented of a vocalist she is and that is with Mia when she sang about her father. If Abi could connect in the way Mia did on that song it would be a different story, and not push so much. By the way, i also agree with you about this last pefirmance of Mia. It was my least favorite from her. I still love her though.

The exceptional talent has not been getting the votes and it's upsetting. I am a day late with this after Mondays show for the top 10 very disappointed at the 2 let go. I guess maybe Teens and country music people are voting.

I will have to disagree about everyone can sing. I tried really hard as kid to learn to sing. My sister is a songbird. My son when he was 3 said, mama that’s not how the sing goes. I have vocal cord dysfunction and am time deaf. I agree most prone can learn to sing, but there are a few of us lost causes.

I think it's time to stop with the judges picking 4 people. This week proved it hurts the 4 they pick. Just put the top vote getters through. Even if it's the same people, it makes them look stronger being voted through. As opposed to being saved by the judges.

Clark, I thought the band screwed up twice with chord changes on Emmy’s song. First, near the end of the first chorus and again later in the song. She reacted to their mistake, assumed it was hers, and this threw her off. Notice her fiddling with her earpiece near the end. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. I think she just stopped singing instead of properly ending the song. Watch it and listen to it again and let me know what you think, please!

I have never said what the hell is wrong with America until last night

KB was amazing. I love her performance. Emmy was also great. Emotionally connected to her. They're my 2 KB did great doing rock. Loved Emmy, I was very emotionally connected to her & she sounded very beautiful Triston, Mia, Abi rounds out my top 5. Think those should be at the end. Triston is the only male I'm enjoying Jayna great vocalist but she is boring. She does nothing for me to care bout her. The vocals isn't interesting I think this was a bad song choice. She should have done some thing unexpected & this was too predictable I don't get the appeal for Jack. Don't see anything in him. I've never cared for any thing he does. I don't get it! Moving McKenna to last on the ranking makes me sad. She had one performance that wasn’t perfect because she was sick, and everyone is counting her out and saying she’s not good. I think I’m a pretty good singer but if you heard me when I’m sick I sound like a screeching cat. I would hate to think you would judge me on my voice then and would change your opinion of me.

You've got to be kinder to McKenna! She was sick and still turned up. Remember her audition, her Both Sides Now performance... I would have picked Mia, Emmy. Kayko or Jordan to go home. Nya is a star. That was disappointing on such a vivacious and talented performance. I still don't totally get the appeal of Jack.

Your opinion is that Jayna is the best singer but it’s all a matter of taste. The question is who resonates with the hearer? Jack is my very favorite. I could listen to him all day.

I loved Abi's performance. For me, it was the best of the night. It's odd, but I think Clark's comments about not connecting apply more to Jayda. Sure, she's an unbelievable vocalist. But I just see a "performance" from her, and not a connection. JMHO, tho.

Jayna and Roman are my favorites right now, then Jack and Tristan after that. I initially loved Mckenna and Will, but they bore me much of the time for the last few eps. Kayko is so not my cup of tea. I enjoy quite a few of the contestants.

I don’t think it’s about valuing Jayna…I think it’s personal preference….and not liking a song that’s constantly being belted out at top volume. I’d love to hear a softer side of her…some nuance….but I also understand that’s not her style. I can appreciate she’s a powerhouse of a singer…that style is just not my personal preference. I just don’t connect.

I’m not feeling Triston at all he lost me when he started over doing the Country talk. I’m from Kentucky I know Country talk. My favs are Jack, Mia, Kayko, KB. I’m finding Emmy has a big Influence group in Nashville who will probably vote for her that’s all it takes when America votes.
