Disappointed that the 2 episodes were basically just repeats of the same contestants over both nights. Most of those eliminated were never even shown, just given a "And we say goodbye to...." farewell. Almost felt like the episodes were unnecessary since we only really got to see, for the most part, those in the top 24 anyways.

Clark, thank you for calling out the rigged ending. I completely agree with everything that you said. I think Ziggy should make it, if only for the bullsh*t the judges/producers pulled on him. How blatantly unfair and humiliating. Who cares if MacKenzie "didn't want to sing that song at all". What a load of crap. Ziggy was beyond gracious. It really cast a pall over the show. It was the end of the show, classic build-up for the big fakeout...that they both go through (surprise!). But then they did a reverse fakeout...and dismissed Ziggy like he was just a pawn/joke/invisible. Very mean and dishonest.

I so wish I could contribute to your channel but 5dollars means R94 in South Africa and I am a retired police lady. You know I think you are so spot on with your break down. Roman was fantastic. He earned his spot. KB did not choose the right song but I fully agree after the sing off she showed she is magnificent. Jack is absolutely great and I agree from the the audition. ( I think of Philip Phillips that won). Emmy is so sweet but I don't think she is going to get very far. Agree fully with "wanting more". I love Country music but disagree with the 200 , I think you can at least get 1000 guys that sounds like him. It is fair that his vocals are so great they had to give him a chance in the top 24. But as you said last year, we already have Chris Stapleton. Love Ajii. I think he is going to surprise us WITH the right guidance. I think Kblocks may be excellent in playing a character in Broadway? One must love her personality but I doubt she is going to get far. Julia did to much acrobatics but she have outstanding vocal abilities. O and now I AGREE. Ziggy should have been in the top 24 as well as MacKenzie. Why didn't they rather did the sing off between MacKenzie and Blake? Wish they can have a "wild card" to bring Ziggy back. O I could have said agree with you 100persent without the ranting Sorry. Greetings from South Africa

I don’t think it’s always predetermined. I think for Raghu v KB, they were genuinely torn. Raghu had the stronger showcase performance, but they were hesitant to put her in the top 24 again. Whereas, KB really did shine under pressure in the sing off and she gave them no choice but to give her the nod. As for the Ziggy v Mackenzie, I do think the producers really pushed to keep Mackenzie. Why? Bc of his TikTok following. I truly believe they want to keep him to help boost ratings. Will that work? Idk Ziggy Outsang Mackenzie every round, and I just think that there was forced pressure and all of that in way of a sing off to make it seem like he had a chance. It sucks, bc I do think Ziggy is better than quite a few others who made the top 24, but it’s their tv show and at the end of the day the producers are in the numbers game

We all know Idol does some manipulation especially at this point. The Top 24 is usually composed of (around)12 guys/12 girls. So it means that there is some forced cuts to achieve this balance. The same can be said about music genre diversity, since their goal is to have a mix of them.

They have two different styles so putting them together made no sense to me. They pick a song and make sure everyone knows that Mackenzie has an emotional tie too it. They both did deserve to go through. I really believe that Ziggy didn't get in because he was deemed too flamboyant for the idol audience. I only watch you because I like to hear your take on things even if I don't watch the performances. Based on your reviews I may go back and watch them. I wish you were able to do other shows.

Unpopular Opinion: I think Mackensie won the sing off. He sung from such an honest and sincere place, that it really connected on an emotional level in a way that Ziggy didn't. Mackensie was singing to someone and Ziggy was singing about someone, if that makes sense. On the other hand, I dont know how KB ended up in the sing off. She was the best person we saw all week. She shouldve been the easiest yes there was.

Roman is over singing for me just like Odell, dial it back and stop the histrionics. Love KB, my favorite, .. Shallow was her lane, disagree on Simple Man, bad song choice and I have loved those boys from Jax for longer than I care to admit, knew it was a mistake when she herself admitted it was risky... note to KB, your gut was right, listen to it and avoid those kinds of mistakes.

but Ziggy WAS connected. It wasn't just polished it was both. Mackenzie tried to cover up his technical issues with "this is raw emotion" which is fine - we've all done it and it's a valid solution in the moment but most of his effects definitely were not choices and didn't sound stable nor particularly safe and that is worrying regarding a competition like American idol where there is basically no vocal rest. Ziggy deserved to go through. So whilst Mackenzie is marketable and talented in that moment Ziggy clearly was the better singer. If you're gonna do a sing-off and then ignore the performances and judge on different criteria - the audience will smell it. Sincerely, a vocal coach.

It was the end of the show, classic build-up for the big fakeout...that they both go through. But then they did a reverse fakeout...and treated Ziggy like he was just a pawn/joke/invisible. Very mean.

He's Broadway like Lady Gaga. Very marketable and enormously talented.@@vanillaghetto

@@robertantonnyc "If only" means that regardless of merit (he has merit), but even IF he didn't/or shouldn't "win" on merit...which most of this comment section has been debating/sidetracked/red-herring'd on...he should go through just for the way that they rigged it.

I thought Zigg was too theatrical and lacked emotions Mackenzie much more likable They put the internationals on just for TV they don't care about them as artists

It was clear as day who Showstopper performance was better between Mackenzie and Ziggy. They should’ve been straight up and sent Ziggy home and not string him along for a sing-off.

I really like Julia, but it definitely felt a bit messy here and tbere and like an impression. Hopefully she'll be able to reign it back in next week.

So agree with you about the Ziggy😊 BS🥵🥵🥵, Clark. Do you think there’s a possibility , since they rigged this whole segment anyway, that Ziggy will return and make it a Top 25?

That sing-off between Ziggy and Mac shouldn’t have happened. They both deserve to be in the top 24 and it lead to an unfair comparison between the two. There were others who went through to the top 24 who I don’t think did as well as either of these two men. There really didn’t need to be a sing-off.

Clark, i need you to add a little bit of rb and gospel to your repertoire... It shows in your comments that it's not really your thing. I come here to get the balance across board, that's the only thing i find lacking.
