In this conversation, Jay Shetty and Trevor Noah discuss the importance of friends in their lives. Trevor explains that he is not easily able to trust people and therefore doesn't make friends easily. He defines a friend as someone he knows how they are in most situations. Trevor's friends from South Africa have become a major part of his life and serve as a support system and a recharge for him. He explains that being a stand-up comedian can be a lonely career and that his friends have become a hub for him, a place where he can go and talk about anything. Thanks to technology, Trevor has been able to maintain a long-standing WhatsApp thread with his friends, and they have been able to keep in touch for over 15 years.

Using friends as anchors is a wonderful way to find yourself self inflated. You have to grow, and that means seeing the situation you're currently in from the perspective of the other entities involved. Staying grounded is in opposition to flying; being a balloon is better than trying to run real fast.

Trevor seems like you have the full armor of God protecting that heart of yours!! As for your friends. Keep them, good friends are hard to find, come by...not only good but sincere, so value cherished and appreciate them. I don't have any friends and to make a long story short, they wasn't real or sincere, they were the seeds of Judas Iscariot!!!! Jay your wife is an incredible woman for throwing you that party with just your closest friend's.

I do understand that we human beings need each other, whether its in good days or bad ones but guys, believing in God and having true love to yourself is everything, you won't feel lonely, and you can be a friendly human being without having friends.

What do you do when the friends you've had for 30 years all die? I'm 69 & they're all gone. I still have the trust issues. I've been on the mainland for 9 years & I've not made that kind of friend again. Home is my last friend, so I'm going back to Hawaii

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friends. It can be very difficult to cope with the passing of close friends and it's understandable that you still have trust issues. It takes time to heal and make new friends, but know that it's possible. Returning to a familiar and comforting place like Hawaii could bring you some solace and peace. Take care of yourself. ♥️

Robin Williams is a classic example of what Trevor Noah is talking about. I read about the loneliness that these comedians face, and it is very very sad, and profound!
