Mac Miller bio for SEO:
Malcolm James McCormick (January 19, 1992 - September 7, 2018), known professionally as Mac Miller, was an American rapper and record producer. Miller began his career in Pittsburgh's local hip hop scene in 2007, at the age of fifteen. In 2010, he signed a record deal with independent label Rostrum Records and released his breakthrough mixtapes K.I.D.S. (2010) and Best Day Ever (2011). Miller's debut studio album, Blue Slide Park (2011), became the first independently distributed debut album to top the US Billboard 200 since 1995.
In 2013, he founded the record label imprint REMember Music. After his second studio album, Watching Movies with the Sound Off (2013), he left Rostrum and signed with the major label Warner Bros. Records in 2014. With them, he released four studio albums: GO:OD AM (2015), The Divine Feminine (2016), Swimming (2018), and the posthumous Circles (2020). For Swimming, he was posthumously nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Along with recording, he also served as a record producer for himself and other artists under the pseudonym Larry Fisherman.

Agreed... However... Mac spent hours and hours and hours inside of his studio pre pandemic... Maybe he would've seen that time as the rest of the world finally feeling the way he did - **Don't you know that sunshine, don't feel right, when you're inside, all day?

@@katiemcgowan465 I love the way you put this. I really think Mac would’ve made something relating to that topic….all of us finally knowing how he felt staying inside all day and never leaving the room. I think those thoughts is what keeps Mac alive in my head…he’ll live forever.

HAHAAH bro he knew. He knew he was loved. Bro Kendrick Lamar told a story of how he bought a range and he told Mac he had that he was making that money. And Mac bought 3 and said he isn’t making that Mac miller money tho. And it’s true. Mac was a juggernaut. People might have not put him up with Kendrick but he def was up and probably past Kendrick. Dude was more blues more jazz more hip hop than Kendrick. It’s crazy to say a white boy held that. But he was just a true artist

Mac's family lived in a different home in Point Breeze for a small portion of his very early childhood before they moved to his main childhood home. My parents were his neighbors at the new house and often heard him playing the drums and creating his new music inside. My parents ended up moving to his family's old house, which is where I grew up. His name was engraved on my bedroom door. I was pretty young when I learned who he was so I never had really listened to his music until around now. I do remember playing at Blue Slide Park a lot, going down the big blue slide on pieces of recycled cardboard it was a classic activity for kids in the neighborhood. RIP.

My heart 🥹 I followed him from album to album but didn’t know much about him. After he passed I grieved so much I couldn’t bring myself to watch videos like this because I wanted to remember him by feeling him in his music. My bf had said once that “Circles sounds unfinished. It doesn’t have the magic in it like Swimming. Almost like they forgot to add salt.” And I can’t believe my ears that it was actually unfinished! I’m glad this came up on my feed. He was so committed to growing as a being and exploring truth. What made him special was his dedication and hunger for the spiritual. He was intensely religious in a certain way. This is what made the music so powerful… his interest in the profound. The big question..

Throughout his years of growth in music I was also growing up, changing, and trying to figure out my own life. I will always have mad respect for where he started and came from KIDS, Blue Slide Park, Macadelic to my favorite GO:OD AM & Swimming😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 Mac miller is the definition of a kid who went big & had real struggles like the rest of us. Appreciate you making this. His music is/was/will always be my therapy. He is the epitome of the saying, "If some is good, more is better." Bc he judt kept wanting to make more music that he knew we just had to hear. He's going to drop new songs every 10months till we are both gone. His catalog alone at that age should be considered that of legendary. 🙏.. PS, MACADELLIC IS THE THE MOST LYRICALLY UNDERRATED ALBUM OF ITS TIME

Another time mac oddly somewhat predicted his death was on an unreleased song named funny papers. It is my favorite song made by mac, something about it makes it irresistible. I typically try to avoid listening to unreleased music now, but I can't stop coming back to that track. In the song he says, " I didn't think anybody died on a Friday.".

Multiple songs predicted his death. He had a drug addiction and realized it was a problem early on. In programs he said “100 be the count” it was released May 30 2018. 100 days later he died (September 7th). Self Care, “like September I fall” he died in September.

It's not often that someone who has fame gives you such an insight into there thoughts and moods throughout their life. Mac was loved for this and because you could see the growing pains he went through in his music and the different stages of realization that went through his mind. I've never before or since been affected by someone's death that I did not know personally and I feel that is symbolic of the impact he had on many.

I’m not going to sit here and lie like I was a massive fan of Mac, because I wasn’t. Baring a few songs, A lot of his music didn’t, and still doesn’t speak to me. That said, Malcom, in any capacity I saw him in, be it interviews, BTS videos of him with other artists, he always shone out as just an outstanding human being. He was someone, who despite me not being a massive fan of his music, I just couldn’t help but love to see succeed. That was until I heard Swimming for the first time a few days after it’s release. Swimming came out at a time in my life where it was exactly the sound and message I needed. I listened & still do listen to that album regularly, Circles too. The latter honestly being one of my favourite albums I’ve ever heard. It’s a damn shame the world will never get to know his next direction after Circles, and it’s a damn shame the music world lost such talented, committed and gifted artist. What’s an even bigger shame though, is that the world as a whole, lost, by all accounts what was one of the most wholesome, sincere, genuine, loving and kind individuals it had to offer.
