I think this is probably his best lp in his whole discography. This was his best era imo cuz id put GO:OD AM 2nd. The drug use isn’t glamorized. Lines like “check myself into rehab” or “don’t tell my mom i got a drug problem” …it’s real as fuck and incredible to listen to for anyone with substance abuse issues. RIP

birds is definitely one of my favorites, but i have a hard time rating it against his other albums, or rather, ranking any of his albums against each other as they are all very good. Each comes with its own nature and vibe, and is very distinct from any other select album. I think huncho jack also deserves flowers though, it truly is an underrated trap banger, it’s grimey tone really can get you into a mindset that no other travis album can get you into. I think I could associate each album with a feeling, i would personally say, Rodeo - Reaching the End of a beautiful journey discovering yourself along the way (basically what V said). Birds - No cares, just vibing, literally in every sense. A point in time where you just don’t care and are doing something you love. Huncho Jack - The state of being locked in. Not that the album is travis being locked in, but that it really does depict that feeling of being hunched over and in the zone. Astroworld - Laying field of grass, looking at the clouds and just feeling the sun on your skin; freedom Utopia - Pure energy; if you’ve ever been in a track race you’ll understand what I mean! Or any sport where adrenaline is high. That’s Utopia until the end where it fizzles out and shows what it’s like after that energy with my eyes kind of being a preparation in a way. (and jackboys if you consider it an album, it’s more of a compilation but i digress, just GRIME; gatti is the embodiement of this idk how to describe it, music on a speaker washing dishes with the stank face in full effect😂)

Samurai Champloo isn't like any other anime and saying otherwise is kinda disrespectful. It's not childish or anything and it delivers a great story with very deep ideologies as well as some goofy stuff. It is a wonderful spiritual creation, and the music plays a huge part in delivering the story. It is so unique as much as Nujabes music itself.

Future is one of the artists I don't want to die without seeing them live, and I personally think that's the best compliment to somebody's career in music. Also, I truly think you're right when you say that the fact that he's not seen as a genius has actually worked in his advantage. What's undeniable is that the man has good taste when choosing beats. Metro and him make a hell of a team.

u completely missed the 07-2009 timeframe.. although not much to show, future was with rocko by then & u could see future all in the background in the “umma do me” music video (u can see him in the ms new booty music video too & that was 05) & future ended up on “trap party” with rocko too in 08.. & then by 09 future had “notice me” with scooter & that song ended up being big in St Louis of all places which led to the hometown success in 2010 n on .. & lil boosie was one of the first rappers to co sign in 2008 with “check my swagg” fun fact.. future was also writing for j money too back then

Well done. You speak so eloquently and respectfully of Mac and who he was. Of course he shared so much of himself with us. I am so sorry that he is no longer here. His music changed my life, and continues to do so. Thank you for putting such great care and effort into this. Your love and awe of Mac is so evident. Beautiful tribute.

I've found so much respect for his skill these past few years. Working with metro was crazy ,that was the introduction I needed to future, since I love metro boomim's production and that got me over the "mumble rap" road bump I had for years in my head, assuming he's empty-minded. So talented and one of the faces on hip hop mount Rushmore for me, just because of how much he's changed the game.

Amazing video, however, hard disagree with Kendrick making "pop" songs - any artist of his caliber is bound to make incredibly popular music at some point in their career. Gatekeeping his work is an L take my man.
