Well, that bad husband claim is unfair. He's not bad, he's just in an unfamiliar situation, from full time worker to house-husband AND caretaker to three. Anyone would find it hard to adjust.

Not to mention he was just in the limelight being able to be super again like a month prior to this movie. It's understandable there'd be an adjustment and he'd be kinda jealous when his wife is picked to do the hero work, but despite that he never has himself wishing she'd fail or lets it cause a rift between them

I mean he was being super jealous instead of being happy for his wife (that’s kinda toxic), and apparently had no idea how to dad. Which…. being in the 1950s (60s? 70s? Idk???) that makes sense, and him overcoming his issues is commendable. But honestly the Incredibles did not need a sequel, and despite great animation this movie is a C leaning towards a D compared to the first’s A+. I bet, had Bird been given the option and had more time to develop a better idea for a sequel, we could have had something great.

I honestly agree, Toy Story 3 was a perfect ending. Something more interesting with the same IP would’ve been new toys in a new setting

I wasn’t crazy about Toy Story 4. And I prefer The Incredibles over Incredibles 2.

@@Natd0gsef Not to mention all the talented animators these days. 3D animation is something you can literally legally learn and practice for free now, which is bloody beautiful.

In general this movie had banger after banger of hero scenes. Not just with Elastigirl, but with basically every hero character, the fight scene between Violet and Void goes hard. It's refreshing after the first movie was like 75% Mr. Incredible hero stuff.

There's also the scene where Frozone and Mr incredible literally sit in the car and listen to a police scanner. Thats what leads them to the burning building and the "I know, I know Freeze" scene.

No it isn't, this movie is God awful. The story is worst, it's treatment of the characters we love is abysmal and the villain is so dumb that you can see the twist coming a mile away.

It’s funny, the day after I watched it I said it was my favorite Pixar movie. The first Incredibles came out the year I was born and I always felt like the first one wasn’t long enough, so this movie was… special.

It’s good for what it is… but there are multiple places where it could have been so much better!

ESPECIALLY when you consider BOB is the one growing even closer to the family in this story. The first one had him realize he shouldn't equate abandoning his civillian life with abandoning his family. This one was about how he may have gotten closer to his family but he truly had lacked the connection that Helen built up with them. And here he finally had a chance form that connection, even though it cost him a LOT of sleep due to a LOT of unforseen circumstances. HIs heart was always in the right place when it came to his kids here.

They already showed this dynamic in the first one tho, its the first one but horrible

I thought it was pretty realistic portrayal of being happy for someone while also being extremely jealous of them and wanting to be in their place.

The movie isn't that great but I thought that part was pretty realistic. Like imagine a dad being the sole breadwinner of family for years but suddenly loses his job to his wife and he is stuck at home all day. I'm sure he is happy for her, but that isn't a situation where people can stay too positive.

@@sarwatarannya8786 The thing is you gotta remember like just a month ago in-canon Bob overcame his mid-life crisis and was no longer a mere pencil pusher...only to now just sit on the sidelines while his wife took care of things. Think about it after going through the emotional journey he went through realizing he didn't just wanna abandon his current life but wanted to be Super WITH his family, refusing to ever leave them again...he had to part with his wife while she got to be super and him and the kids didn't. Yet even with how aggrivating it was loves his family and is actively wanting to be a part of their lives, he's trying to help Violet with her boy troubles, he's doing what he can to raise Jack-Jack despite being exhausted, and not wanting to cause issues for Helen or the public. Incredibles II gets a lot of unwarranted shit like yes plotwise it's not as clever as the first one, most likely because Disney rushed production. But Bob NEVER was someone who hated his wife's success, he was dealing with a lot of intense emotions and new changes, and in the end of the movie he comes to be a good father who respects what Helen does far more than before, and the family as a whole grows even closer together. It's a powerful message that sadly is lost because of shallow analysis.

I do agree that the villain was way more lackluster this time around, but I really liked that the film made the distinction that even though Bob was very much jealous of the fact that Helen got to be a superhero again, he never wants her to fail or lets that create drama between them, and is in fact self-aware that he probably shouldn't feel that way. Like, it would've been really easy to go the lazy route and make Bob's jealousy of Helen create drama or tension in the family, but they didn't and I really appreciate that choice.

I thought the worst thing about the movie was that they had no idea what they were doing with the end of the first movie and the start of the second movie not making any sense at all.

I think it is heavily implied that the supers are essentially a government program i.e they got their powers from the government and given the fact they were active in the 1940s, yeah, she is probably a very high level CIA or air force spy I base this on the fact that the way both mr.incredible and elastigirl infiltrate syndrome's island lair, they very clearly have espionage training. So imagine some James Bond type adventures, which version? well I haven't watched a single james bond thing so go ahead and pick one😅
