The best cooks and chefs don't brag that they are as good as Gordon, they have humility and always want to improve. That was the world 20 years ago. i was at a place were we had 3 out of 5 chefs like that. One micro managed everything. She would tell me to do one job and then wonder why im not on the dishpit. Same with the servers. she would tell them how to do things and slow the whole kitchen down. Thankfully she only was there for 9 months and quit. The new chef we got was alot better and the whole kitchen worked smoother after that.

It was in a pretty good location, near several majors highways and on a busy road with lots of parking, in a largely African American area with a large variety of ages and economic levels. And there were no other soul food restaurants in the area: Colombian, Ethiopian, Nigerian, Brazilian, but no soul food. She really had a pretty ideal location and situation for success there.

It was easy for Shelly to throw her hands up, bc it wasn't her investment on the line. Just think, bc of your pride, you lost your 72 year old mother's retirement. So selfish of her not to just listen. Never giving props to thr staff. And how did she fix her mouth to say she'd punch her mother in her face, if I heard correctly, bc her red Velvet cake was praised. The jealousy was over the charts.
