Game Changers changed my game! A year ago in March, I watched it on Netflix and by the time it was over, I chose to be WFPB and have been ever since. I've lost 50+ lbs and my bp, which was 200+/100+ for YEARS, is now consistently in the normal range. Wooohoooo!!!

You based your diet change because you saw a bunch of frauds lie about pretty much everything they talked about? You lost 50lbs going plant based because you likely followed avoiding the Randle cycle which is mixing fat and carbs together. At first, this improves our health because it does this low fat, high carb diet, however, because it lacks the essential nutrients only found in animal foods, it is short term and will eventually end with dire consequences in spite of the initial positive change.

Similar to me, Susannah, but luckily my blood pressure wasn't that high to start, although I was taking blood pressure medication so if I hadn't been taking it, it might have been that high, or I might be dead. I lost about the same amount of weight and bp is very close to normal at about 123/83. I fixed my cholesterol which was my main impetus to start.

The “Game Changers” is an amazing documentary!! I have recommended it to so many of our friends and family and their attitude towards people on a plant based diet changed completely and some of them switched their diet to become vegans as well :)

I’ve been trying to get my hubby to go more plant-based for many years but he always blew me off and refused to watch the documentaries. For my birthday all I asked for was that he would watch Game Changers with me and that worked. He watched it and is now trying to do the plant-based eating thing. Thank you for doing such a great job with the movie.

These documentaries are full of lies especially the Gamechangers. It uses pseudo-science experiments, it uses a false equivalency paradox, it lies about the gladiator class, it lies about "vegan" or "plant based" athletes who never were such things and those who did switch to plants did worse performance after their plant based switch and their "vegan" strong man Patrick Big Boobie Man has no world record of any sort. Arnold Schwarzeneggar is not a plant based person, never was. He got to his level of bodybuilding by consuming lots of meat. Now he wants to tell everyone to eat plants for protein, yet he never did it himself while he was bulking muscle. If plant based diets worked better for strongmen or bodybuilders, then they would all be going vegan, but they aren't. Not only that, but the "boner" experiment has absolutely nothing to do with science or sexual performance. That is not how human physiology works. Same with the "fat in the blood" nonsense.

I have done exercising some but not a lot up until recently. I am at high altitude and doing some intense exercise regularly. I am pushing the envelope, so to speak. I still want to be careful with at least 1 light workout day between very intense stair climb routines but I am optimistic I can hold this routine for the next 30 days. I think recovery is much faster, as many have said including people in this film, such as the cyclist. I don't have knee pain, but I am not running. Still, I think the diet has something to do with it, and certainly the reduced weight does.

I took a family friend to the premier of the film after she had her 5th knee surgery and was heavily considering retiring from her sport. With the support of her Plant Based Boyfriend (now husband) she recovered better than ever and won the Olympic trials in her sport for the first time in 3 attempts. Her knee has been healthy ever since.

What is the name of this "family friend" and explain why a person who has 5 knee surgeries should ever compete in a running competition and remain healthy doing so? Sounds like her knee recovering came from the 5 knee surgeries, and not eating inflammatory plant toxins. What is this "Olympic trial" and for what sport? It took her 3 attempts to "win"? You mean they kept letting people who didn't win start the competition over? I notice you said "trials" and not the actual Olympics, meaning your family friend did NOT make it.

So, because you watched a pathological liar pretend eating plants made him better, that is all you need to change your diet? Your foot pain is likely gone because you threw out the standard american diet garbage food which was to blame for it. More likely than not, your change in diet caused a drop of water retention, which can relieve foot pain.

@@keitht8183 - Just do a little research. The athletes he mentions in the video are NOT plant based in most cases and the ones that are full vegan are either at the end of their careers or their performance has suffered. Gladiators were not the epitomy of health either as he pretends they are. They were slave class people given a shitty plant based diet because it was cheaper and they would not live very long. Then the stupid "boner" tests to see who has an erection after one day isn't how science works either. The reason people feel better initially from a plant based diet is they are removing a lot of the junk from the standard American diet, but when they leave out meat they will suffer later for it. The Randle cycle is the only explanation for why this happens. They are not mixing fat and carbs together.

@@the1onlyrrr248 - Yes, eating plant based after eating the Standard American Diet will improve health markers initially, similar to a person who fasts does. But this honeymoon is not forever, it will eventually catch up to you and your health will suffer because you are not consuming real food, because real food gives you every nutrient your body needs and plants do not provide this to us.

@RiDankulous
@RiDankulous 2 жыл бұрын
Game Changers was such a beautiful film! I'm glad you were able to get James Wilks onto the program. Some very interesting in that was the nocturnal penile tumescence experiment. I find that to be accurate. I do think eating a good amount of dark, leafy greens multiple times daily can cause such a change, and especially kale although I don't necessary use kale as much since my recipe requires I cook it so it takes extra work the way I do it now. I'll eat 2 ounces of spinach daily and take my chances with kidney stone development. I can get spinach cheap and it's easy to cook and tolerable to me. In fact, I noticed that over time, I tend to enjoy it more, like anything I regularly consume. But anything creating nitric oxide in the body is just fine. Of course, the complete avoidance of any animal products has a great impact, as does the consumption of all the other whole plant foods. I understand they want to get points showing plant eaters in manly sports but I personally have been trying hard to avoid violent sports, films and shows. Most of the athletics I enjoyed greatly, including the weightlifting, cycling, and long distance running, as well as the sprinting. I find that Ornish is the best from an evidence based proof of the health benefits. It is very unfortunate many in our society have a visceral dislike of the whole food-plant based diet. If it's tribal that can tend to be hard to break. The human need to feel part of a tribe is a powerful motivator to do all sorts of things, both good and bad.

Loved the game changers, expected everybody to go plant based but was shocked to discover logic and science had zero effect on so many people, especially those with larger egos, I’ve noticed that the greater the ego the greater the resistance to plant based. In Bali, where I live, there’s a certain type of ‘fitness’ persona that also style themselves as nutrition experts and food and lifestyle gourmands, and also earn their living selling something to do with these lifestyles. They are often, but not exclusively, an Australian subculture and are intractable in their conviction that grass fed animals, ‘slow foods’, ‘locally sourced’ ‘carb phobic’ diets and often paleo or keto diets, are the enlightened way of eating and living. They are generally weirdly aggressive towards plant based diets and full of affectation and pretension around their own diets. There is a strange emanating hostility towards veganism hidden by professionally friendly smiles and ‘thats amazing’, ‘good for you’ vacuous responses and a cult like willful ignorance that reflexively spouts discredited arguments like ‘protein tho’ and random incoherent references to ‘the human past’. Is this common around the world? I’m hoping it’s particular to the rather superficial, opportunistic, even greedy, transient popular expatriate culture of a tiny tourist island famous for its beauty and beautiful people, that now by the way have become generally very fat due to no longer eating as they did for centuries a mainly plant based diet and falling prey to the new marketing campaigns of animal agriculture.
@steviacandyman7892

The game changers did not use ANY science whatsoever in its claims. It lied about athletes being "plant based" and pretended that current vegan athletes were improving their performance after going plant based, which is not true. It mislead the viewer with Arnold pretending he is plant based, when we know he isn't. Not eating plant based foods is not about ego, it is about human physiology and nutrition we have had for 4 million years of evolution. The agricultural explosion 12,000 years ago is very recent and prior to that, there is no indication people consumed plants in large quantities or at all. The fact you loved this piece of shit film only proves how dishonest and disingenuous you are.

@@steviacandyman7892 its strange how hostile you are to scientific and empirical evidence? and historical facts/ its weird! i can only think its related to an attachment to the 'masculinized', 'rational', 'member of the right group' identity, even more than the attachment to child hood foods. It's the only thing that explains this weird hostility. otherwise you'd be genuinely interested in new information and differing conclusions ...now i could understand if you had a hostile reaction to a diet that demanded cruelty and slaughter ..that makes sense...who wants more of tjat after all? but a hostile reaction to a diet that is recommended as healthy by the two biggest dietary organizations in the world and reduces cruelty slaughter... and green house emissions... and your reaction is hostility? something has to be explained? its got to be ego!

At 19:49, It is really enormous the benefit of substituting processed carbs with plant proteins, an 18% decreased mortality risk, and equally as enormous is when replacing with animal proteins, there is an 18% increased mortality risk. It is very sad that the many people on keto or diets including meat fail to understand these enormous benefits. Again, I think it is related partly to a tribalism. Change in their opinion will convert them to an outsider of their group, or so they perceive.

Actually, the Masaai are a reason to not eat meat! Their lifespan is under 45 years of age according to the BBC. They live about 20 fewer years than other Tanzanians. The Inuit live 10 fewer years than other Canadians.
@steviacandyman7892
@steviacandyman7892 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, because the BBC is a trustworthy source of facts, right? The Maasai WOMEN have a life expectancy of 45 years, not the men, because the women are treated like shit in poverty and oppression. Has NOTHING to do with their diet. So, your argument clearly has no bearing on anything. The inuit live less than other Canadians? According to what? Oh that's right...NOTHING. That "fact" came from a few autopsies of inuit who died a bit younger and it was from a chronic disease, not their diet. You have to ignore the other factors outside of diet that explain those "statistics" to promote your nonsense. The reason the inuit may live less than other Canadians is they have less access to medical care because of their isolation. Just because you extend someone's life in a hospital, doesn't mean their diet is healthier, it means you can keep them alive longer regardless of their diet. Not to mention, the inuit live in one of the harshest and life ending environments on the planet, which also is a factor in early deaths.

Why would you want to stop eating real food and switch to fake food? If you want to be more creative, you need a functioning brain. A vegan diet's first casualty is the brain itself, which requires both saturated fats and protein from the most nutrient dense sources, that being of course meat. When you deprive it of these foods, it suffers and begins cannibalizing itself for nutrition, causing a loss of brain mass, and thus mental instability. Hardly a good idea for creative thinking.
