If we get AGI right now, I think it could be months. If we never get AGI, then never. That's a long time, but the human brain isn't just unknowably complex, it's staggeringly vast.

The three points will be necessary or desirable for natural and smooth mind-uploading or “transcendence.” 1 Individual personality, coexisting with the ability to form sound and responsible “collective mind.” 2 Transfer capability between computers and artificial bodies for good interaction with the real world. 3 Preferential treatment from the people whose end is near. Such techs will be vital in the future.

Consciousness/Soul transfer will be possible with the appropriate technology. Quantum computing and DNA engineering opened the door to that point of evolution. Technology to print a beef stake is current reality and a step closer to print a Human body.
