First off, Aech (Or H) constructed the Iron Giant by herself with Wade helping out from time to time, so the Giant is most likely about 60-70% Complete at this point, therefore his Atomo Form (That's what I like to call it.) can't be fully achieved in this battle, tho that'll be awesome to see. And second, the DeLorean isn't exactly just a cameo here. It's Wade's prominent transportation throughout the movie, therefore the DeLorean got a bigger role. (Then again, while the entire BTTF Trilogy is made by Zemeckis, Spielberg has a big hand there as well, so he has just as much rights to the DeLorean as all of his other works.)

Iron giant could kill everything

in a deleted scene his chest nuke was shown literally destroying a planet, to be fair there was an army of giants, but he's still way beyond Mecha G. the newer Mecha G with the freeze beam might have put up a decent fight against 100% giant but they had to nerf him or the fight wouldn't have had any weight. similar to how the dude used his "turn into any giant robot" item to become a gundam, there are way better robots than a gundam, heck there are better gundam than the one he turned into, if he wanted he could have turned into Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and destroyed the entire planet. the good guys had access to 2 world destroying items but the movie would be boring if they did that. this the the type of thing they'd put in an episode of How It Should Have Ended.

The movie made clear it was not the real iron giant they said it was a fan making a thing they liked and puting it in the game. Then the movies haters said that no fan would do that. Yet fans are doing it. So they were wrong to say that about the movie. The movie 100% got fan culture right in that regard. The movie did not get the character of the iron giant wrong. The character in the movie did. Here ill make a simpler example A stupid character in a movie gets a math question wrong. Did the movie itself get the math wrong? Are the makers of the movie stupid for geting the math question wrong(even though it was intentional to show the character was stupid)? No so why is it everyone keeps saying that the writer and director are wrong for what a character chose to do in this book/movie?

Yeah but is kind of the Copyright 30s Claim, they contact the Studios, they make a deal to use characters or references for a couple of minutes or seconds and most of the time is not a big Price or is just amount from takings. Most of the people know Spielberg and or work on this movies so is normal they borrow some of the characters.

it wasn't a meteor, it was a full blown ballistic nuke that the villain fired at his own country to destroy the iron giant, and the giant still fixes himself after taking said nuke directly to the face.
