Hiya. Roy's T-Shirt is also relating to "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", no spoilers, just in case you get to it. I'm also old enough to have listened to the original BBC Radio Serial and be in possession of the vinyl double album, before all the visual stuff happened. Imagination is a wonderful thing. Aunt Irma not a common phrase in UK, Aunt Flo is, so I think they purposely chose an unknown euphemism to draw on the boys' blank faces. And I really like the cartoon analogy, a lot of UK sitcoms tend to be like this - Fr Ted, Red Dwarf, Friday Night Dinner to name a few that spring to mind. Thanks for series 1!

I'm so glad you're getting it, it can take a minute. It's not for everyone, I know that, but it's one of the all time greatest comedy series in my opinion. I can't tell you how many times I've watched it and it still makes me laugh. I was also lucky enough to be in the audience for the filming of one of the later episodes while on a trip to the UK. Great reaction, thanks as always.

I grew up on British sitcoms, murder Mysteries and David Attenborough documentaries. I can't tell you how often I was disappointed a British show ended for the year (Or forever!) I would be so engaged and they'd all end far too soon. My own Memory Lane: Fawlty Towers, The Goodies, The Two Ronnies, Keeping Up Appearances, Teachers, Spooks, The Good Life, Blake 7, To The Manor Born, The Young Ones, Red Dwarf, The Vicar of Dibley, Silks, Silent Witness, too many great murder shows to list really. It's been great seeing clips of the IT crowd again. Good memories. Glad you're enjoying it :)

What you talked about at the end is very much the same with a show called Father Ted, which pre-dates the IT Crowd and was created by the same writer (Graham Linehan.. along with Arthur Mathews). If you're left wanting more after finishing IT Crowd then Father Ted will fill the hole. It has the same absurd and cartoonish elements and is a hugely beloved show in the UK. A sitcom about 3 priest and their housekeeper on a tiny remote island sounds like it would be the most boring show on earth, but it's one of the craziest and most hilarious sitcoms you'll ever see.

The reason for the 6 episode series and a year between them is British shows tend to be written by a single individual or a writing pair. Just my opinion, but I feel it makes the ones you like so much better because they are not watered down by a committee. It also means there are plenty that are awful on the other side of the coin, but rarely are they middle of the road mass consumer produced.

Next Britcom - Miranda. Super funny and only 3 seasons plus a couple episodes to end out the series. Excellent cast, Miranda Hart shines and if you've seen the show Lucifer then you will recognize the main love interest, Gary, as Tom Ellis, Lucifer himself in a completely different type of role. And i gaurantee there are quotable lines in this show you will be using for years to come.

@@kyleoconnor5944 if you've been labelled a transphobe for years, I'd say you're the problem. Bottom surgery isn't always required and isn't done without a parent's consent until 18. I have no idea on the rules outside of the WPATH guidelines with WHO. I knew at 5. I'm now 54 and happy. I'm in the UK so all surgeries and treatments go through the NHS so they have over 300,000 case studies. In the past 30 years the regret rate gas been 0.03% (NHS Guidance, 2013). HRT is never given to kids under 16 as it isn't needed. Doctors wait until their natural hormones arrive so they can balance HRT. You're thinking of puberty blockers. This has betrayed your ignorance. Puberty blockers have been tested and approved fir children since the 60s. They were invented for children with Precocious Puberty Syndrome and not trans kids. They are harmless and completely reversible. The NHS, WHO, John's Hopkins, Yale, health systems around the world, the field of endocrinology all say the same thing. Trans people are real and the treatments are sound. Are you an endocrinologist? A doctor in the field if gender studies? An evolutionary biologist? A cellular biologist? A chemist? No? Then you don't know shit about it. Are you trans? Do you have a trans child? No? Then it us LITERALLY nothing to do with you. Leave the thinking to the experts. Admit it. Be honest. It's not about "the kids". You just find trans people "icky". Admit your bigotry. More US congressmen have been arrested for indecency jn public rest rooms than trans people. Now go and find another minority to punch down on. I'll say no more on the matter as I promised myself I wouldn't try and educate bigots on the Internet and save my energies for gripping them when encountered in public (as should be the fate of all bigots and nazis).
