Seth Meyers referred to this as a “hat on a hat”. Its just sort of random comedic elements on top of one another. It’s muddled. This is just lazy writing bc they are just throwing a bunch of shit at the wall.

@@mikecantreed a "hat on a hat" conceptually is two (or more) unrelated funny things happening either too closely or on top of eachother which distract from eachother. This is not that, this sketch is more absurdist, the premise is just a regular job interview, the jokes are all related to the fact that everything about thi business/job/interview is deliberately incongruous/illogical/absurd

In the movie Hollywood Knights about an LA car club, they shot in NJ ... so for the sunset scene, they shot background at sunrise and played it backwards. Michelle Phiffer and Tony Danza stood in front of it.....

He is a trained British actor you have to learn different forms of acting. It is an American thing to only learn one type acting. Leonardo Di Caprio basically plays the same person in every movie with a different scenario 😂

Rege and Beck both sell the ability to stay normal with increasingly crazed dialogue. Bowen is just as good as the frenzied assistant. This felt more like the type of thing they might have done in the days of Will Ferrell or Will Forte - pleasant surprise to see it on SNL now.

This is one of my favourite types of sketches: surrealist, quickfire, and completely senseless. Re-watching this I counted all the jokes (every single subversion of expectations) and how many were there? _No Less Than 40. _*_FOUR-ZERO_* . just incredible

I feel like so much of this episode was a whole fever dream. Like they went to Kyle and were like ‘this episode is for you. All of the skits-they’re yours to write.. “ and I’m here for it. Also, I appreciate Bowen’s talent more and more. Even just the small part in this.. he’s just so good at scaling the humor to the perfect level according to the role.
