The job market is brutal right now, and it's not just you feeling the struggle.
In this video, I delve into the harsh realities of today's job landscape, drawing parallels to the dot-com boom era and sharing my personal journey navigating unemployment, career changes, and the mental health challenges that come with job hunting.
We'll challenge common misconceptions and lies you might believe as a job seeker, emphasizing the need for strategic job applications and personal growth. I'll share my experience with learning coding and breaking into the tech industry, advocating for self-care, continuous learning, and adaptability to overcome job market obstacles.
=============================================================
QUESTION: What's something you believed about the job hunter that you found out later on was not completely true?
==============================================================
Expect insights on optimizing your job search strategies, including utilizing AI like ChatGPT for job hunting, and some LinkedIn tips. We'll explore the collapse of the traditional 9-5, the notion that no job is safe from AI, and whether tech is still worth pursuing amidst industry layoffs and a shifting landscape.
Get ready to confront the tough questions: Why does it feel impossible to get a job right now? Is the job market truly trash or just evolving (and should we embrace it)? When will tech jobs come back? And how can you tap into the hidden job market or should we learn to thrive in the gig economy through freelancing?

the key to getting a job in this market is to know someone who is working where you want to. THEN, you bypass the filters(recruiters, hr, etc.,) and you'll streamlined the process. I'd whether work 6 months a year at only 3 -4 days a week and make $60k for myself, then work 60-70 hrs a week at $100k for someonelse, Plus when you're an employee, you're taxed way more than an entrepreneur.

Employers are purposely lowering wages. Posted job positions that used to be $21-24./hr. Now $16.- 19./hr. Noone can afford to live on those low wages; Inflation isn't $16-19./hr. Employers are: ● Posting positions with lower wages to see the type of talent and how many will apply for lower wages. If the job gets alot of applicants, they'll lay-off/close down the positions to hire in New employees at the lower wages. ● Companies are hiring applicants from long distance, giving them offer letters, letting them relocate only to tell applicants the day before or on 1st day of work, they don't have a job. Happened to my hair stylist friend from Boston; it's the 3rd story now of this happening. Word is the govt. is pressuring Employers to do this. The same stories and experiences are being told coast to coast, border to border so it's not a one off thing.
