ICE new job is to come to the pod and feed the tech geeks for at least 15 mins every episode. We love hip hop & rnb, but our range of interests is far broader than that. The more well rounded the pod is, the fewer other channels we're rushing to for our fix of whatever else we like.

With HipHop approaching its 50th year, Its so good hearing NaS spit that grown man rap. I'm 46 y/o and I think its important for HipHop to have that Grown perspective in our culture. S/o to emcees such as Nas, Jay-Z, Black Thought, and Busta Rhymes etc for showing the culture that an emcee can be ageless and still drop classics.

Nas is the undisputed Goat now. I think the KD series plus Magic separated him from everyone else. To have this level of consistency and longevity hasn’t been done by anyone else in hiphop.
@warjjaugust
@warjjaugust Жыл бұрын
It's longevity if you kept a steady pace your whole career. This recent work is excellent. And I'm not trying to take away anything. But since he has went for a while, throughout his career without releasing music, you just have to add the whole catalog up and match it to whomever you are comparing him to. If one rapper came out with 20 projects over 12 years and Nas did, say 15 over 26 years with a couple of years gaps in between, it's pretty much the same. Now doing it, sounding this great and fresh after 40 is what we really need to be giving flowers for.

I disagree but he is ONE of them tho for sure. Nas's achilles heel is that he never really quite had the versatility and excitement of Pac, Big & Jay in his music. Incredible lyricist but the music just doesn't stack up in sound. Also, Nas's PERSONAL story just isn't as captivating as Jay, Big & Pac's. Nevertheless you can certainly make an argument for him being in that spot and that's all anyone can ask.

Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole did an excellent job with Black Panther 2's script. It was deeper, more passionate and emotional. They delicately honored Chadwick Boseman and brought a more intense tone in the movie. The women in Wakanda had to step up, it only made sense! They were left to lead and protect the country. I respect the representation of minorities in the film as well. This film was definitely worth the wait and respect to everyone who worked on this project. To sum it up, the overall theme was about being remembering your ancestors and connection to them, being strong, having courage, knowing who you are and forgiveness. The movie ended on a positive, introspective note. And I expected no less from these awesome actors and writers!!!

Why people hate Nas so much? I notice half these Jay fans that give him a compliment it's always backhanded. And I'm speaking of Ish. He had to double down on "that it's not like the other Nas stuff that lulls you to sleep." Nas is so low key. I just don't see why people hate this dude so much 😂

@@hellrello2739 it's not the fact that they may think it's boring or whatever, it's the delivery of the review. Like even when speaking of an album that's enjoyable, he feels the need to highlight what he views as negative (which isn't even the album, its Nas past material). And even the way hes saying it, is like he doesn't want to. I've noticed certain outlets and reviewers do this. They like to give the album it's props for like 2 seconds but then try to focus more on comparing him to JayZ or focus on what they think were missteps from the past or even the 21 savage comments. The bias definitely shows and I dont get it because Nas is so lowkey lol.

@@mickey10jb80 it's definitely the jay bias... what they don't want to admit is nas has been putting out better albums in their later ages and has been rapping better... these people over hype anything jay does... nikka could fart and they'd still somehow say nas ain't on that level... it all stems from nas killing jay on ether they can't get over it

So what’s a leave earth moment??? A bunch of punchlines that are cool and witty? Or real life jewels that can help you or being pro active and leaving a good message for the youth?? Or mixing all of that up and that’s Nas!!! Just appreciate greatness!!! If you could do it YOU WOULD!!!!
@onyxonyx4744
@onyxonyx4744 Жыл бұрын
If by 'cool' you mean dynamic and awe inspiring, then yes. And 'wit' is and will always be EXTREMELY important in the scope of 'writing'. Also, most of the other names he mentioned provided 'life jewels' and good messaging for the Youth. Even if they didn't, there is no hierarchy in content. Someone can write at a high level about 'Love' and someone else can talk about 'black plight' and write well. There is no superior subject matter as long as there is substance involved. Jay, Andre 3k, Black Thought and yes Drake have ALL showcased substance and written at a high level and 'shook the game up' with their writing and I haven't heard a notable verse from Nas like what those guys have delivered as of recent. Look Nas is incredible historically but I actually agree with Joe here. Nas can still rap VERY well but he hasn't 'wow'd' me either in quite some time.
