Its better to help through the court system for transparency . You can support sponsoring the system which will generate funds for the system rather than handling the funds directly to the plaintiff or defendant . Its a great idea to help but without proper documentation it creates leak space . It can also provide adequate ideas and view better knowledge.

I believe both of them about the number of items bought. The plaintiff paid for four while the plumber paid the seller for two. You'll only understand if you deal with them. A lot of them are dishonest so you have to be careful when dealing with these artisans. On the other hand, leaving items that are already paid for with the merchant for four years is unreasonable.

Leaving the items with the merchant was based on trust there is nothing unreasonable about that. Such happens every-now and then. What is noticeable here is that the merchant has criminal intentions if not a criminal’ and this may not be his first time doing this. But thank goodness he has hit the rock this time.

The total amount paid will help to ascertain the number of items purchased. In other words, the amount paid should be used to calculate if 2 or 4 WCs were bought.

No no no!!! Ermm...Baba is dealing with goods which requires space to store and sell, I don’t see him as a criminal in this case because you can’t pay for goods and come after 4yrs to pick it up. Baba made a mistake in not compelling the buyer to pickup his goods soon enough. But where is the plumber by the way, if he’s alive he’s meant to partake in all of this cause he have his own fair share of the mistake made by all parties involved. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What Inflation has caused in this country sha. Well before selling the goods the man should’ve called the buyer to discuss space payment cus the ‘abandoned goods’ occupied his shop space. Anyways this is a fair judgement from Judge Funmi. God bless the men and their endeavors henceforth🇳🇬🙏🏼

Not fair at all. The shop owner need his space. Why will someone purchased an items and leave it in the shop for 3 years. He needed his space and sold the items. He should pay the exact money the buyer paid not the current rate. I have never argue on judge funmi’s judgement but this is crazy. If it’s here in Uk the buyer will pay for 3 years storage before collecting his goods. My shop is meant for selling goods not for storing paid items.

If for example you went to a cement seller and pay for 100 bags and told him you will collect it any time he the seller will be using the money for his business so whenever you need your cement the new price is not your concern all you need is your cement

How can you store goods for 4 years, reasonable time is not 4 years !!! The plumbing merchant too should charge storage fees ...... 10K vs 22K..... How far with inflation...😄😀 A properly worded receipt, including storage fees, would have saved the plumbing merchant...... Trader's need education on business practices....

The judge cannot go with what the Defendant claims simply because the Plaintiff has no documents to proof that the WC are 4. The Defendant should also bring proof of his counter claim

I love how the judge struck out the second case. Talk about trying to scam the court. If the landlords agent wasn't going to get a cut, why would he come to court knowing full well that the lawsuit is vexatious and frivolous?

Not really..the current market price is 22k, so the 44k is only for two. If he actually paid for 4, he has lost, as at the time, the price was 12k, and he paid 48k...now he has to look for another 44k to buy two more...

The plumber as the middle man would have been called here as a witness... I believe he's the one who will clear if it was 2 or 4 that was paid for. The man has his list and all he paid for, I know he must remember the total that was paid to him, if it tallies with what the man has on his list then he indeed paid for 4 items.

The defendant make a great mistake by not informing the plaintiff before he sells out already paid goods, the defendant feels remorseful, and I believe poverty May have lead him to this, I pray he gets money to pay up, I understand things are hard and people can make st*pid decisions that may put them in trouble later

Before she finished pleading her case I knew it was a sympathy card she was throwing. Fact that it has become known that the judge has a sympathetic heart and often help others financially. They came with hopes that the judge will give them some,money. Good judgment.

The merchant selling the WC shows that he’s lying about the number of WC the plaintiff bought. Even if the plumber paid for two. The plumber is not dead nor dumb or deaf, so he better say the truth. There’s no way his plumber “friend” that he claims he “trust” didn’t tell him that the man paid for four but let them share the money on 2. Some people use the fact that they’re elderly to act dubiously and that’s wrong on all level. Pay up immediately. After denying how many the man bought for. Kmt.

Thanks for this programme. Judge Funmi got something wrong here. The man purchased the items a long time left it in the man custody without turning back. I'm not supporting the idea the man sold it, but the goods were bought 2017 and the buyer turned up aftet 3 years to recollect the products. The buyer has nothing to reclaim after buying things for over three years. The only issue is that the seller did not give the buyer the limit time for collecting the goods from his custody...

The first case I feel like the plumber needed to be there to clear up the discrepancies..and the plantiff is kind of unfair....you left your stuff there in his place for 3 years....are you paying storage? And now he must pay the appreciated price. Instead of paying 24k which is what he paid he now has to pay 44k....ahah! Its unfair o.

I’m sorry judge funmi i always love your judgement but i disagree on this one . kindly have it in mind that he has the right to empty his space. He did not stole anything. After 3 years. Why will he be the store keeper for water closets . No way. Why will someone pay for 2 water closets since 3 years and didn’t collect them. Excuses me is my shop a storage? Well, i don’t know how the law function in Nigeria. How much will the buyer pay to keep 2 water closets in a storage for 3 years. He made a mistake by not providing the buyer the amounts he paid for. The best judgment is for the merchant to give him back his money.

I felt every bit of the old woman ordeal, 😭😭, tears went down my eyes... For the son or daughter who is a graduate don't wait to get a job on the field you study, if it was so everyone will be unemployed, I studied microbiology and my wife biochemistry but we are in the world of cosmetics, fashion and kiddies,,,, no job for this country,,,,, forget motivational speaker or those telling you to hustle it will pay off with hardwork, dem dey hustle with Empty pocket.... I thought the cost of the two WC under dispute should have been shared between buyer and seller. That the seller, went ahead to resell two WC , under his care,raises integrity issue on the part of the seller. This should strengthen the claim of the buyer that he paid for 4 WC, and not two as claimed by the seller.

@@henryopiah3194 my brother Henry the man is even truthful, without receipt for purchased goods it means you never bought anything from the shop, as there is no proof for 4, meaning there is no proof for anything been bought, just orally confession has been made my the seller admitting to have received money... Secondly they can't share the burden, what is paid for isn't yours anymore, you are only keeping it for the person, so it has to be replaced either as it was bought or give the buyer the current price of sales, if I was the seller it would be better to give him the 2 WBC, rather giving the man money to buy else where, also how are we sure the man will see it to buy @ 22k per one all sellers aren't same and price increases on commodity everyday in Nigeria

THE SCREENING TEAM FOR JUSTICE COURT SHOULDN'T ALLOW CLIENTS TO SUE THEMSELVES. LIKE THIS WOMAN WHO IS OWING HER LANDLORD BUT DECIDED TO SUE HIM. THIS IS VERY WRONG. CASES SHOULD BE SCREENED AND CASES LIKE THIS ONE SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO APPEAR BEFORE THE JUDGE AT ALL. NIGERIANS DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE BEAUTIFUL WORK JUDGE FUNMI IS DOING. DON'T MAKE JUSTICE COURT LOOK CHEAP AND DON'T LET OUTSIDE WORLD THINK THAT WE NIGERIANS ARE IGNORANT OF CASES THAT SHOULD APPEAR A JUDGE. I don’t like this WC seller and buyer episode,the judge seems to be defending the defendant. She should have allowed the defendant to either accept or deny the claim and even interrogate him before the advise and if possible call the plumber to understand what happened
