There will never be another car like the E39 M5. It will forever be known as the King of the road.

Hands down the E39 M5 is the best out of all the M5. It is the last of the properly built old school BMW. This car is a masterpiece my dream car along with the Audi Quattro from the eightes rally cars. I am on my second E39, first one i had for seven years. Super reliable bullet proof engine and gearbox. They really don't make them like this anymore. Mid nineties to the early 2000,s BMW could do no wrong with the cars they were producing. I will own an E39 M5 one day phenomenal car amazing engine sound. These cars are going up in value, love these cars to bits.

Great video. I have owned mine for 16 odd years now and i still love it as much now as I did when I first got it. Evolve have worked their magic on it so for me its now better than standard.

Clearly the greatest Car of all time! I have owned 4 E39's and have yet to own an M5.. BUT, I do own a 2002 E39 540i 6MT and it is on the edge of FUN and Scary at the same damn time. I plan to upgrade what I can on it to M5 components and attempt to make it as good.. I will own an M5 one day, but it will prob be the F10 version since I own the E39 540i. Your enthusiasm is uplifting, thanks for sharing your passion with us.

E60 M5 is an upgraded E39 M5. Same chassis design. The advantage of the E39 is that has the best compromise of wheelbase and body width/length. It s bigger than the magnificient E46 M3 and smaller than the legendary E60 M5.

I've got an E39 M5 and I've had it for over 10 years now. Although it is a great car, there are a few others that give me more of a feel-good factor.

I have owned an anthracite grey e39 M5 for 4 years. They're class. It does everything. The beat thing is that you can use it to drive your Nan around in comfort, then the next day, find a decent road, and it absolutely changes its character and drives like a savage! The harder I drive it the better it becomes. My mates have a V10 R8, Cerebra 4.5, Catherham Superlight, Aston Martin Vantage, e90 M3, and an Audi S3 staged 2 tuned, and all of them can't believe how fast the s39 M5 can be hustled along, absolute respect to this old school beast. Plus with a back box delete. It sounds unbelievable!!! 💪

FYI Trick Bits fixed the horrible cup holders on the E39
