A shocking disgrace on Christmas Day! The former POTUS needs to take some lessons on class and empathy from King Charles.

When criminal cabals conspire to steal your democracy it is wrong to say nothing, do nothing. Trump's speech -- direct and disconcerting as it may be -- is the most honorable type of all, in that it confronts the evils of our time. Your ignorance concerning what is going on in our world doesn't change the truth of it any more than the allegorical emperor bereft of clothing. ...

(years ago). I was not expecting to be favourably impressed with Charles as king, but I am. He is a shining example of the positive and constructive role a monarch can play in a democracy, something that republics do not have. Well done King Charles. Wonderful speech.

@zedmarlen This American Grandmother applauds your astute and wise comment from my home in Tennessee USA. I agree with every word and the sentiment behind them. As a Christian, I have heard excellent sermons that surprisingly fell short of Charles wisdom and clarity in our role to help and care for those less fortunate in so many aspects of life. He "praised" but didn't "preach". The wisdom in that praise will encourage an even deeper commitment to serve even more. His encouraging speech will inspire hearts to " live with purpose" that have been blind to the positive changes their compassionate and empathetic involvement can bring. He is speaking to the UK but touching the world! Zed, thank you for sharing your thoughts ~ they also touched me in a way to make it imperative to also offer my praise for this worthy King and his speech (which I feel certain he felt and wrote himself).

We are so very fortunate to have such a wonderful, thoughtful and down to earth person be our king. I have met him and he is just the same in public as he is on camera, a genuine human. All nations who have the monarch as state head are so fortunate. 🇨🇦

I've had the pleasure of working closely with the queen in the past and I've personally met every member of the royal family it's important to remember that during these times we need to live by the message from the King and carry on what is necessary for all mankind

How on Earth have you done that? What do you work as? I wish I could meet any members of the Royal family. Unfortunately, I live in Spain, so I guess watching his little speeches from my laptop will have to do for now. Even when and if I move to England I very much doubt I will have the pleasure of meeting any of them at all. British people don't realise and value their monarchy as much as they should. Please take my word for it, the Spanish king is 10 times worse, not to mention the president who is an utter disgrace. King Charles and his legacy are, without a doubt, great, caring people.

The British Monarchy is loved by the British people, where were you when the Queens funeral took place or the King’s Coronation both were displays of both love and devotion to our great Monarchy. Just for your information a friend of mine visits her daughter in Norfolk each Christmas where they regularly meet King Charles and members of the RF it’s not that rare! The British RF meet ordinary people every day of their lives as do journalists, photographers etc.

Straightforward and well said. Salute! (Interesting version of he Anthem beforehand, with a very strange and quite beautiful trumpet descant that I've never heard done before. Props to the band and to the officer musicians conducting and arranging.)

He sure is! I felt like the cards were stacked against him at the beggining and it wasn't really his fault, but, as time goes by, people are growing to like him more and more and that's good because he's really nice and takes his job very seriously so there's no reason why people shouldn't like him in the first place.

Regardless, It was a great message. QE2 didn't write hers either. So your life must be perfect. You never made mistakes that hurt someone or let someone down. You family didn't make you marry someone you didn't love. KC3 has also done a lot of good with the Princes Trust, he was a leader in organic gardening since the 70's and he's saved some historic homes. Even though his life was privileged, it wasn't always easy.

I am deeply impressed by the speech! It is a Christmas tradition of mine to watch the speech even though, the United States is not a part of the Commonwealth of Nations. Personally, I wish we were, I think the American people would benefit from the leadership of his majesty. Merry Christmas to all, and God save the king!

@@nicktaylor1015 being a member of the Commonwealth of Nations does not require us to have a monarch as head of state. It's simply membership to an international organization that the king is the head of.

@@jaybouwman exactly this. You don't even have to be previously part of the Empire. The last 4 countries to join weren't. Gabon, Togo, Mozambique and Rwanda. Saying that its not really something the U.S.A would join.

I@@emj3161 I think the US should join the Commonwealth of Nations, we could benefit from more international associations. Diplomacy should always be encouraged, not discouraged! The United States would benefit from a Seat at the table. If the US desires to continue having a global sphere of influence. We need to continue to be active in the international community! Joining the Commonwealth is an important step in helping to maintain positive International relationships.

@@jaybouwman The U.S has the U.N for that. The Commonwealth is more nations working together on projects or ideas. I.e environmental ones or promoting the smaller countries on a bigger stage. I.e Australia U.K Canada would support Togo in the U.N as its a Commonwealth nation. The leader of the Commonwealth is voted it was Queen Elizabeth its now King Charles. I can't imagine any U.S president playing second fiddle to anyone. The U.S has a tendency to take over.
