Sun Li and Jing Ke are childhood lovers and were forced to escape when Qin troops attacked. However, Sun Li's enchanting beauty seizes the interest of the Qin Emperor, Ying Zheng, she's captured and sent to his palace. Sun Li agrees to marry Ying Zheng but later she finds she's pregnant with Jing Ke's child, Ying Zheng treats the child as his own. The tragic day arrives when Jing Ke tries to assassinate Ying Zheng.

This is the first chinese drama ive ever watched since I was a kid. Now I'm 30 and the last Chinese drama I watched was huan zhu princess (idk the real title) but damn this kings woman is so gooood. The story, the leads, their chemistry are all incredible. Zhang bin bin and dilreba are so perfect together ❤ and now I need more dramas like this one 😭😊

Zhang Bin Bin is extremely handsome and so very talented..He just fills the screen with his presence and I love him in this drama.. I am so glad he got the lead role here, as he is certainly leading man material..I look forward to seeing him in his next lead role.. (By the way--I don't know how the lead actress can breathe, let alone speak when he's around!!☺)

Indeed. The chemistry and acting is definitely on point. The fighting scenes are more realistic then some previous Chinese dramas I've watched. Well nirvana in fire is also really good! Thank you for a wonderful drama. 😁

So glad he is in this. They have such a nice chemistry together, and he was really the only thing I liked about the Chinese version of She Was Pretty. For being so young, he has an outstanding presence on screen that really stands out. He looks to be just as charming in this!

I seldom watch china dramas, but this is the 2nd ancient drama I watched this year. I watched this becos of the actress, Dilraba Dilmurat. She totally amazed me in the (first) chinese drama I watched this year --- TEN MILES OF PEACH BLOSSOMS (a.k.a. Eternal Love??). There are many beautiful actresses out there...BUT she seriously surprised me with her acting skill, cuteness, beauty, personality, talents! O_O (Btw, the king and her were in the supporting roles in TMOPB, but this time round they are the leads)

Really like Zhang bing bing and his act on screen and they both have a great chemistry together that's y I also love the drama pretty li hui Zhen. The sad thin is he was the second lead in that drama both also great. I wish to see him more as a leading role. He's such a great actor much love.

What I like about Chinese actors (like Zhang Bin Bin) is that they are not kind of "flower boy" and more manly (well most of them). They are all pretty but not girly.

@2009idaz - Yes, all of the chinese actors in this drama 'THE KING'S WOMAN' are very manly and handsome. I don't like korean dramas, because they have pretty faces like Luhan and Ji Chang Wook.

I was surprise that actually Zhang Bin Bin is very young and have very cheerful and funny personality which is opposite to the character of the king who is cruel and cool-blooded. I watched the Princess Agents and I changed my interest to C-drama from K-drama ever since.

i havent watch chinese drama for a long time.. n i never watch mandarin historical drama.. then suddenly these 2 weeks, i already stuck here like a mad fan.. keep thinking what will happen.. keep waiting for the subtitle.. everyday downloading the eps.. watch it everyday after return from work..keep scroll insta for the new vids..want the good ending soo badly.. because the king was so patiently waiting for her.. n she slowly falling in love with him.. im totally in love with this drama

Well, to be honest, the synopsis to this drama isn't very optimistic. But if she doesn't turn from Jing Ke to him completely eventually, this drama is really lame. Not because I'm such a die hard fan of this couple, objectively speaking, Jing Ke is more pathetic each episode. English doesn't have suitable word for how I would call him in my language. If I see a scene of him shouting for wine one more time, I'll probably start skipping his scenes entirely.
