Built in 1950, the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium has been expanded/renovated three times. Today, it holds about 7400 for a hockey game and it continues to hold its original character as a classic arena. Many, including myself, refer to it as a cathedral. It was recently an "arena double" for Maple Leaf Gardens in a television production about the late Borje Salming. You'll see that classic nature inside this arena. This opening of this video was shot on Friday, December 16th, 2022, around 5:00 p.m. when it was still light enough to see the exterior. The remainder of this video was shot early on Saturday morning, December 17th, just before 1:00 a.m. ... long after the game between Kitchener and Sault Ste. Marie was over, the fans had gone home, and the broadcast was done. This video is long! Still, I think there are missing elements. You don't see the museum or the merchandise store. But I do think you get to see the corners and crevices you wouldn't otherwise see. Maybe a follow up is warranted in the future. If anything is missing, please let me know in the comments! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this arena as much as I do. As someone born and raised in Kitchener, I have a real fondness for the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. That might explain the length of this video! It's a bit of a romantic walk for me.

One of the best cathedrals in jr hockey. I hope this place stays around for a very long time, of all the arenas I've visited to see the Knights, Kitchener will ALWAYS be a favorite of mine. Love coming to the Aud as a visiting fan

So much like the lower bowl of the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium, our “Aud”.

Buffalo Aud looked like a great place to watch a Hockey game. On a Hockey Tournament in the 90's me and a few team mates went to check the place out. Going to the top row was almost scary, the upper deck was so steep!

Same colored seats as Buffalo's Aud... only missing the oranges.

Just got season tickets starting last year and couldn't be happier. This place was my Friday nights growing up with my dad and I look forward to making similar memories with my son.

How many of you remember The Annex ? A separate arena behind The Aud. Played lots of hockey there as a kid. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association. The puck would go under the boards. Had chicken wire instead of plexi-glass. Change rooms were upstairs. Fun walking up and down those with goalie equipment on. 😅

It's been many years since I've been to a game, but my Dad and I would go every year to celebrate our birthdays. We might need to start up our tradition again because this tour brought back so many great memories and really makes me miss the Aud.

We used to get Rangers tickets through my dad's work, so I have a ton of memories of wandering around this place. I remember when the team store used to be downstairs in the area you walked through at 10:00.

I've been imagining for years that if and when they replace the Auditorium, that they would build the new arena next to the Bingemans amusement park. From a practical standpoint, it makes a lot of sense to have the two amusement venues next to each other.
