This mv was inspired by the Truman Show. The scene of scoups shutting something down was him shutting the cameras off and ending the “show.” At the end the last scene says “Last Cam - Exit” with them escaping on the boat to find their lives as the screen resembles an old tv screen with this being the last scene of their “show” as they leave.

Jeonghan makes me covinced that he is the comfort place and internally he is like the one who have a major role within their group. The song always reminds me of Jeonghan and Scoups does hold the power to decide whats for the group and what not.

Everything you said about jeonghan totally makes sense. He is the safe place for every member.

Fml is the first track and the lyrics are "when i was yiing and watched cartoons i wondered why i couldn't be the maincharacter like i would see". Then Super is the second track and the lyrics are "this song is a cartoon's credit somg". Svt members fought for their life and found themselves. Finally they became the main characters of their life. Hope you guys find yourself💖💙

this was inspired by the Truman Show as many people have suggested. but i agree, i don’t think it’s a coincidence that jeonghan is the specific member who’s helping them escape. i also immediately thought of his in the soop comment, and i’d like to think his role in the video was intentional. this mv was filmed after in the soop 2 (although i don’t know obviously when the idea for it came about) so maybe jeonghan’s words resonated a lot and influenced the decision to cast him as their escape boat away.

I think because they make this as a double title track, I think it make sense to make FML as a full no choreo and Super as full on choreo MVs. It balances each other out

I wrote this comment under another reaction months ago; and though it's redundant of many Truman Show comments, I'm providing my own insights here: Woozi (their highly empathic INFJ songwriter/producer/composer) said he wrote this in the middle of the night, and it was very hard. He was going through a hard time (what's known as "the dark night of the soul). He said he had to dig deep and face all the "demons" and negativity that not only he was experiencing (think of their song titled "Shadow" which is all about doing shadow work and integrating/embracing your own "dark" side aka ego with your Divine self, and learning to love/accept that part of you) but what people worldwide are facing right now. It became very emotional for him and HARD to write the song. The purpose is to express what I would say the majority of the world's population is thinking/feeling right now, especially in those countries where people are under surveillance (Seungkwan, always under authoritarian control in the corporate world, trying to escape like Truman did; DK finding a camera in his lamp and drones outside his window, so he smashes his TV which may also be spying on him; The8 finding himself evicted and sitting outdoors among his belongings trying to make sense of it all, etc.), where everything wrong seems to be happening. In real life Woozi doesn't even HAVE a driver's license and doesn't drive on purpose, so he probably would feel dumb trying to start a car and nothing but the wipers work because the car is dead...just like Truman's car wouldn't start. Mingyu having a stage camera fall on his car (just like the camera fell nearly hitting Truman in The Truman Show), Wonwoo trying to leave by bus but getting blocked and left standing in the rain only to notice it raining ONLY on his right side with the left side dry (meaning the world is fake...this is TRULY The Matrix...it's not real and is totally holographic...SO MANY references to The Truman Show in this video it's unreal!), Joshua saying goodbye to a friend only to find a button pin on the road---just like Truman did---that told him something important. They're all trying to escape the "set" or "stage" of life, but keep getting blocked. Truman desperately wanted to go overseas to find the love of his life that he'd let go years ago, purchased tickets, but was too afraid of the water to go. Woozi has a ticket, but keeps getting blocked...again, just like Truman did. The only way Truman could escape was to put a dummy in his bed (like Hoshi) so the producers of The Truman Show would think he was sleeping while he ran away. Did you notice that 1) there's a poster in Hoshi's scene that says "F*ck or FIght", and 2) the drawing in the mirror that Hoshi is looking at is a monkey...referring to Sonongong...the mythical Monkey King…or Son of Gong from Dragon Ball…the next song they released titled "Super" or "Sonongong" in response to “FML”? Another thing I found significant is that as Dino is looking up at the night sky, the Big Dipper constellation changes into the Southern Cross. (The Cross). The title of the book Woozi is reading is "Microwave and RF Design of Wireless Systems"...a tip of the hat to a "conspiracy theory" that we're being zapped with negative energies via technology (including our cell phones). And don't we all have a "secret" from the past that we're too ashamed to tell anyone? (Note the billboards behind Jun read "Nothing Will Make You Happy", "Waves of Fear Coming To You", "Never Make Mistakes" and "Avoid Challenges/Stay Safe"...these are the messages/propaganda of the world that constantly bombard us, and what we must fight to find ourselves and WIN.) It's significant that S.Coups (Seventeen's team leader, which you know) finally walks over and turns off the lights on the set, indicating this life is nothing but a stage. Once the lights are out, that's when you see the ocean, with storm clouds forming in the background....just like the director of The Truman Show created to drown Truman once Truman finally beat his fear of the water and got on a boat determined to escape. (TOO MANY references to the movie.) This is EXACTLY how people are feeling worldwide. Even The8 said he's felt this way many times, and his only salvation--which is everyone's--was to find himself, which he does through meditation. So overall I think the video is beautiful...Seventeen letting their fan base know THEY UNDERSTAND what they're feeling (especially those in China and the extremely repressed North Korea) and other tightly controlled, imprisoned, dictatorial and surveilled countries...and that the way to overcome is to return to and find yourself. Don't quit, don't let the numbness (apathy) set in, don't hide your feelings by just laughing it off, don't fear your past self embarrassing you now because your past self isn't who you are now. We can't let it define us. FIND YOURSELF. FIGHT For Your Life. Don’t say “FUCK My Life”. Personally, I cry every time I watch “FML”...not only because it hits home for ME, but watching others' reactions to the song and seeing their pain breaks MY heart. (Just go to KZfaq and look up "reaction video to FML and see what comes up). We must NEVER think we're alone; and one day on the other side of THIS fake reality, Matrix, Truman Show we're all stuck in, we'll come together, REMEMBER each other, reunite and be whole again...just like Seventeen does in the end. NOT “F*ck”... but rather FIGHT (for) MY LIFE. We WILL meet again…in another realm outside of this one; and we’ll hug each other again as family.

i’ve seen a lot of people say this mv seems to take inspiration from the truman show. hence dk with the cameras and drones, vernon and jun on the run, people trying to stop woozi and seungkwan, etc. but then scoups shuts everything down and jeonghan has the boat. i’m not very familiar with the truman show (i know the premise, ironically because of svt. i looked it up before watching the truman show inspired gose episodes) so i’m sure other carats can explain the mv in more detail

as a lot of comments said this mv is based on the truman show! they are in a world that everything is coordinated and people watch your every move. so, they are trapped in this fake world and wont get out until they realize on their own that is fake. about the scenes, the light on mingyu's car is a set light (as it happens on the movie as well), dk finding a camera by accident and they opening the window to find drones, shua with the pin, wonwoo with the rain that falls everywhere but on him, seungkwan realizing his surrounding is a simulation and paid actors, hoshi with the same mirror drawing as the movie, the quotes around jun are things christof would say to truman and especially they trying to run away by boat are some hits about that reference. i loved it. its so smart. about jeonghan insight. that's so it! jeonghan is the island! i loved loved loved how they put that in this mv. edited: also got to make sure to say it again, love the combo pd and svt. i love when people love suff. stay bias pd is okay i love to see that admiration come through.

I noticed that the image in Hoshi's mirror is similar to Monkey King. I interprete this as "Super" is the representation of the greatest, strongest and perfect side of svt or any person in general, the best part of our personality. Then "Fml" is about our struggles we want to hide from public and ourselves, it is about our pity, ashamed, scared and desperate side, we can learn to accept.

I think that super is after fml. Because in this song they expressed how they feel like a fool,stupid and dreamed to be someone amazing. In the end of this mv we see them happy which implies that even though they struggle when they are alone, everything gets better when they are together. Then in super there is the line'i llove my team,i love my crew,we have made it this far' and 'because of you i feel like sonohgong'. So what I'm trying to say is even though they think they are worthless and fools alone,being with the members help them be the best version of themselves and now they feel like they are the person they had always wanted to be.

One of the things about this song is that you dont realise at first that theres no vast note changes in the tune (especially if you know the lyrics) - the song is based on a few notes that are repeated Cuz the way they arranged the members singing changes the mood even with the same line - like, from Mingyu starting with a voice that is on the rougher side and thus presents the troubles - to woozi's voice that presents a slight agitation and annoyance (and probably hatred) feeling towards the world - to jeonghan's lighter and, in a way, hopeful tone - they are all singing the same lyrics with same tune but the difference in their voices and vocal style and the progression of the lyrics and MV makes it seem like the song is going towards a hopeful note

I love how you view the MV since you don't know it was inspired by Truman Show movie.. hearing you, I can view the MV the other way.. But overall the MV made me almost cry since it had been hard for me for almost 5 years now. It's hard when you have to fight yourself. But since I found Seventeen in 2021, I feel a lot better than before. I'm still recovering but I'm better than me before ❤ it's a good achievement❤

we had "my my" where we had almost no choreo and i feel like it is kind of like a second take on that concept. my my was more like lets escape, leave everything behind live in this wonderland whereas fml is a more mature take on it so they do escape but it is not easy and nothing about the journey on is sugar coated .

Another mv with just acting and no choreo I can think of is Hitori Janai (Not Alone) but that's a japanese track, loved that song and video so much though.

As this may have already been discussed before..the vid is loosely based on The Truman Show. Several shots quite literally reference shots in the movie. Vernon is a huge movie buff so he may have had some push for this?? I love in the Soop 2 and Jeonghan's comment about being an Island for his members struck a chord with me as well. It's as if they have all escaped and run to him, his boat, his island, he is their buffer. I also noticed S Coups shutting off the power, as if maybe restarting or letting his members power down....the very end is like an old movie clip letting them rewrite their lives. I also like the pull back from Minghao and the props spell out FIGHT.

I have such mixed feelings about this song. 😐 See, when we heard the title my best friend joked that it would be the "anthem of our [millennial] generation," and maybe that got stuck in my head because I was expecting something totally different. With a title like F*ck My Life, I guess I was thinking it'd be like, the intensity of Hit meets the angry angst of Fear x10. I was envisioning the kind of *"FML"* that rages at the universe, at the injustices & how messed up everything is. 🤬👊 And naturally it'd have the performance to match. Obviously, what we actually got is more the kind of "fml" that means, "well shit, this sucks 😞👎," with the implication that it's temporary. The song commiserates and comforts; it's more about when you feel exhausted & defeated by life. The best way I can describe the atmosphere of this song was that if you sent this to a friend w/ "#mood," the perfect response would be for them to send you BSS's Fighting (although I know that Woozi has said Super is intended as the answer to FML). And obviously the performance aspect shifted to Super. I do appreciate the song for what it is and I know it must really speak to a lot of people.....but it isn't what I expected, what I apparently wanted and _needed,_ so I can't help feeling disappointed. 🤷‍♀
