Hi, I'm Peter Claes, and welcome to my Masterclaes® Channel.

Custom molded is the way to go! I will have to try them at some point to compare them with my iem.

But Universal gives your monitor engineer the possibility to listen to exactly what you are listening to. Handy if he is not using the same IEM’s. And they last longer without leaking...

I have custom molded iem (800€) from a famous brand but they lack soundquality and specially low end. I have ordered some universal iem on amazon that sound way better for just 45€

@@MasterclaesVideos Indeed the universal iem version has its merits and speaking of leaking issue, I'm currently watching the videos of your channel with custom molded iem that I got in 2006 and while my left ear hasn't changed, my right ear seems to have slightly reshaped over the years. I have to position it a bit more carefully to get a good seal, which is of first importance for the low end.

I have 3 custom, 2 Universals. "for me," I find universals have better sound overall with foam tips. To each their own. (For Me) customs have been a waste of money.
