Already watched this movie twice and will watch again tomorrow. Absolute amazing movie to watch in the cinema. matt damon at one point mid 2nd chapter LITERALLY disappears and all you see is carrouges.. but all 5 main actors were absolute on point, just too good, especially 3rd chapter with a blowing mind end edit: matt damon should get an oscar for this one, the 3rd chapter acting is just unreal

@FBI Agent #1356 well I'm French and a historical reenactor. There doesn't seem to be the diversity quota so often shoved down our throats... But I think I smell feminist BS. Jacques le Gris is a rapist (which is historically correct, at least according to the judicial outcome and the chronicles by Froissart) and Jean de Carrouges is shown in a very unflattering light... Two specimens of "toxic masculinity".

Technically, the duel was about the accusation of rape, but from what I just read these two guys had hated each other for years. They had fierce arguments over land ownership, finances, and favor at court. It's quite possible that Carrouge and his wife made up the charges so that he could legally kill Le Gris, but it's equally possible that Le Gris actually did it in order to spite Carrouge. As they say, we'll never know what really happened.

Ironically a line said by a British actor who typically plays American. Why is it cool for brit and aussie actors to play American characters ( often historical figures) with that generic "American " accent they all do. Buts it's a issue vise versa? And other than a couple of exceptions. When brit actors actually try to do a regional American accent its never convincing either.
