Күн бұрынNot much has changed for the Lexus RC F since its debut in late 2014. It’s still RWD, 5.0L V8, 8 speed automatic. However the RC F could be on borrowed time as the Lexus IS 500 F sport Performance model coming this year is looking to offer similar performance with two more doors for less money...but that IS isn’t here quite yet, so let’s find out what makes this 2021 RC still worthy of its F designation.

The Rcf is my aspirational car. Never was I so infatuated into a car before. I even managed to spare money for it to the point it could become reality. Kudos to Lexus on producing my dreamcar.

Great video production. What one the things that I love about Lexus RC is that is a sporty car with high realibility. In Costa Rica there are many Lexus around and repairs and parts are easy to find, plus the concesionary is excellent.

These are true gems! Too bad pricing is high for some to justify it but when you are in these, its out of this world! One of my top fav cars! NOTHING wrong with that dash and infotainment system! Dont mind if its not touch screen as long as it has apple carplay/ android auto. That will remain timeless. Hows Florida life treating you? We’re thinking about moving there in a few yesrs.

Here in Europe this is the few NA v8's available we still have besides the Mustang ,but IMO the RCF is on another level than a Mustang .I find the pre-facelift more "iconic" though and those seats are my favourite sports seats to ever be put in a car . You buy this car if you appreciate a good sounding engine , a smooth ride and a bold design inside out , but for 90k you probably should stretch your wallet a lil bit and get an LC

Thanks for doing this review (and noting the comparisons with the LC500). LC500 is still my favorite car but this is definitely nice as well. Maybe Lexus will give you some track time. 😁

I have this conspiracy theory that when Toyota & BMW collaborated on the Supra, one stipulation (among many other things) was that Toyota had to adopt the BMW turn signal so they just plopped it into the RCF 🤣

That's the one thing I HATE on my 2020 rcf... I went to use the turn signal and was like OH NO... not this. :-(

I don’t think Toyota made that decision on on the rcf, because this is a lexus and since Lexus IS independently operated and ran. I think Lexus just thought that they’d implement it too idky but.

@@baronvg what…you do know Lexus and Toyota are independently operated and ran brands(owned by the Toyota motor corporation, but just because a company owns a brand doesn’t mean they make decisions about that brands vehicles hence why Lexus has their own staff exterior interior designer and engineers and plant workers and dealerships and Lexus IS the only brand that can sell Lexus vehicles, you don’t see new Lexus being sold at Toyota because they can’t sell them. I hope anyone that knows about cars and specifically the Lexus brand knows that’s.

Great review as always, such a beautiful car, not as classy as the LC 500 which is a mechanical master piece, but the RCF has its own character, Just special in a different way.

Yes it's gorgeous, but with the LC available and similar in price (new) LC would be my choice. A used LC vs this...and it becomes a difficult living space for the RC.

I agree at $90k, I would pay the difference and go for the for the limited edition. But my money would go towards a LC500. 🤷🏽♂️

Just last week I picked up my RC350 F Sport Black Line. I have to say it's one of the best Grand Touring cars available. It's not a Sports Car and one should expect it to act like one. I have turned off the adjustable engine microphone via speaker exhaust noise. Instead I enjoy the wonderful excellent sound of the Mark Livingston sound system. My seats are not as bolstered as the RCFs ,but lot more comfortable on long trips. Seldom I would have the opportunity to enjoy the full power potential of my RC350 or RCF. If you want a Asian Sports Car, then get a Supra, 400Z, or for fat wallets the RCF FUJI Speedway Edition or dream for an NSX.

Agreed, the combined DRL/headlight in the newer RC F looks a bit small for the large grille. I like the rear end and the lines on the side of the newer RC F better though.

Love Naples and the RC F too. Naples PD wouldn’t like you speeding.. I got one for barely going over the limit, you can always count on a ticket. You definitely need a track

I’ve never had a problem with the blinkers. Not sure why everyone says they aren’t functional. You push all the way down if you are taking a left and it will cancel out once your turn. If you are just merging lanes push half way down and it’ll blink 3 times and turn itself off. What’s the problem?

Good review. I have a 2016 Lexus RCF carbon/TVD with OEM++ mods and it actually feels 10x better than stock. My channel has videos on it. As the specs and Lexus reps say, IS500 F-Sport is not going to have a whole bunch of track-oriented hardware that the RCF has in order to keep the price down, which is why it is not a full blown F. IS500 will be cheaper, but for people who want to once in a while take their car on the track, RCF will still be the car to compete in that segment. Lexus also claims the RCF is almost 0.5 seconds quicker than the IS500 F-Sport to 60 mph. Not sure if it is marketing or because RCF actually launches faster. OEM exhaust is quite disappointing, but sounds can easily fixed with a full exhaust and to me it sounds better than the LC500 and gives more HP.

@@KirkKreifels Not if you want to use it as a daily/only car. The LC's trunk is super tiny for one, it wouldn't fit the bags for a weekend trip for both me and my wife. I've gone on Costco trips with the RC F and it's fine. Also, I guess you're a tall guy, but I'm 5'8 and I can sit behind myself in the RC F comfortably with 3 inches of knee room, so I can seat 4 adults of most sizes easily (though admittedly the rear headroom doesn't allow for much comfort for taller folks). The LC can't even fit a kid behind me.

@kirk I’m guessing you missed the Lexus execs in the Florida Sebring show mentioning the next Fs are slated to have the twin turbo 4.0L v8 and could be seen as soon as 2023 but didn’t specify which models will be released first. Expected epa gas is 19+ mixed driving with the new engine and over 650hp

LC is not an "F". Less performance oriented, more luxury. Used F or LC is a great option though, I know.

An almost 500 hp car that does only 4.5 seconds is not great these days, especially with a dedicated launch control. I wish they changed the gearing and put in a better transmission for the price. It’s a fun car, but not for the price. I’d rather get a C8.

$90,000---- This is near 911 pricing and over M4. You have to be Lexus fan to buy this car. Would have been more attractive 2-4 years ago.... Lexus is years late to the game. Also, for $90k wouldn't the LC 500 be a better buy for just a little more?

@@carboydorifutoparty3976 it happens to all new performance offerings. Just saying with the new IS500 the RCF is looking a lot more unreasonable for the price. (That’s if the IS500 sits at 60k) makes sense to re-evaluate the lineup.

Yeaaaah USB 2.0. Always have a soft spot for that color. Lexus sure knows how to make a blue. It’s def a fun car to drive. Hopefully one who gets the performance package are religious about maintaining a cf roof. I’d def be keeping cleaning products in the car for those rogue bird shits. Man I hate when a bird shits on the car. 🤬

Just two major issues with the RC: little to no rear legroom; still foot parking brake. Otherwise it would've been great......
