Once a narcotics officer in the LAPD, Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger) has settled into a peaceful life as sheriff of Sommerton Junction, a quiet border town. But that peace is shattered when Gabriel Cortez, a vicious crime lord, escapes from FBI custody and speeds toward Ray's town with a band of mercenaries. Federal agents prepare to capture Cortez, and Ray is at first reluctant to get involved -- but he soon finds he must rally his team and take matters into his own hands.

My favorite part of this movie was it wasn't just Arnold doing all the heavy lifting. All the characters were shown to be competent and badass. It makes you want not only the main character to survive, but the town itself to remain intact.

Vickers machine guns are where the phrase, "the whole nine yards" comes from. because their belt of ammunition was nine yards long, so when the enemy comes charging over the trench wall....the call went out to give it all to 'em.

This film is garbage, the Corvette has a fuel ECONOMY of about ten miles to the gallon so how did it manage to drive flat out all that way without refueling and when he flipped the swat vans it would have smashed it's radiator and suspension so another mistake, the helicopter in real life would have had heat sensitive cameras fitted so to be able to lose a helicopter is another movie mistake, this would never happen in real life
