May I ask what the soundboard era means as it pertains to podcasts. the only thing I know about soundboards is that its when you bring your pc/other recording device to a live show (usually music) and patch it directly into the audio engineer's mixing board so you can make your own recording of the performance. that live recording is known as a soundboard. obviously that definition doesn't fit in the case of podcasts. can you explain to me why i'm so stupid and confused please?

Saw Dracula on a Boat. Bit hard to build tension when I knew what was going to happen from the outset, but Its a pretty solid monster movie. The practical effects serve it well. And it was a nice change up from all the super big budget movies doing the rounds. I also would have liked a sequel, it had the perfect setup. Best movie ever.

I recommended in a CoG premiere video a few months back the idea of a Roland-palooza (Stargate, Independence Day, Day After Tomorrow and 2012), and someone responded that it could be a good idea. Just, y'know, if that happened to be one of the suggestions you couldn't remember. Also, if that anonymous leak from bts on Secret Invasion is confirmed to be valid, it would explain so much. That show was a chaotic mess.

I really liked Dracula: Voyage of the Demeter. Really good performances all round. Although it might not be crushing it at the box office, I think it’s going to slowly build a following.

I liked Shin Kamen Rider quite a bit, even as someone who’s not super familiar with Kamen Rider. I liked how a lot of the movie is about legacy and people who learn how to trust and make connections to others despite being hurt before in the past for themselves, and to make the world a better place. Combine that with some great costuming, fun fight scenes (also some wonky cgi lol), and a lot of heart and sincerity, and the more I sit on it the more I like it. Great movie and it made me want to check out some more Kamen Rider stuff in the future.

About the DCEU. IMO the easiest simplest smartest way to go about a reboot that already starts as a potential shared universe (it won't be until a second project is out, obviously) is a live action adaptaiton of the triple pilot episodes of the JL cartoon from the ol' DCAU. There is nostalgia bait, there is a solid proven general plot and structure to follow, it introduces the main players rather well who can then be also taken into their own spin offs where they can be individually explored, no need for lengthy "this is my backstory... again again again!" for any of those characters, at least not in the JL movie. And hey, maybe they are pullilng some DCAU inspirations if they're adding a hawkgirl, and Gunn has confirmed the DCAU is one of his inspirations (at least according to one quick google search and one reddit headline)! There is hope yet it won't suck!

The studios probably screw everyone as hard as possible to the point it matters little. However seeing it at the cinema would help your local cinema, and also show up in the movies "Box Office" figures, which is what people tend to use to decide if a film was ultimately a success or not. I personally enjoy movies at home more. I like my screen more, I like my seat more, and my two shitty hompods somehow sound better than the movie theatre, which was too loud, and 90% centre channel... damn thing may as well have been in mono.

Older audiences have read the original novel and newer audiences have seen the dozens of anime based on Dracula. So almost every person I know considers the title a giant spoiler. Plus, c'mon! Everyone knows vampire movies do terribly when you're heading for a recession!

I think streaming killed comedies because there's tons of great comedic sitcoms available on streaming and we've seen it all already. Also, most movies have comedy in them so why watch a movie entirely dedicated to comedy?

Agree. Thinking of "kids" movies like Disney and Pixar, the creators usually think of adults as well, adding in comedy for them. As for adults without kids, they probably gravitate towards Rick and Morty or movies like Deadpool, not exactly the happy go lucky comedies that we used to see. Movies and shows that more acknowledge that the world is unfair but have fun how you can, love what you can. The wool has been pulled off our eyes, I don't know if comedy movies will come back unless they start acknowledging reality.

I liked Demeter. I think the ending was a little too much on the nose and the last, like... 35 minutes or so had a really wild tone shift. Like it went from a decent horror movie to a "let's get that monster" movie. It felt almost like an abandoned script for part of a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. And the very end was just too cheesy.

40:01 in reference to the comment that super hero movies ruined comedies… did they forget that comedies have always sucked. They’ve always been hit or miss. You get one out maybe ten that are good and usually classic. But most of the time they suck. There’s never been a golden age of comedy. Maybe the 80s and 90s but we just remember the highlights and forget all the garbage we had to shovel through

In regards to Adam Devine's complaint that "Marvel have killed comedies", I have to disagree. Netflix & other VoD platforms tainted them by releasing unfunny drek with b-list actors, and KZfaq & Tiktok have hammered them to death, especially Tiktok, where so much of the current algorithm is just clips of movies and tv shows aimed to get people watching each individual part of the whole to boost the channel in the algorithm. People don't want to waste money going to watch a mediocre comedy film when it's going to be free on Prime or Netflix within 2 months and mostly available on KZfaq in full HD within hours. Also, tolerance for low blow jokes punching down at minorities has obviously dropped off hugely, which these comedies love to rely on.

So about the continental. The dude from The Rain tried making a martial arts series called the Wu Assassin. Tried to pull the same thing. Trailers looked like awesome Raid action. BUUUUUUUT it was actually very stiff poor version. Didn't give a shit about the plot. I see this the same. The Wick movies are FUCKING STUPID! But the magical action makes it just work. This is going to blow.

I thought it was because there powers are drained during the day so they are weaker and more vulnerable? They have an explanation in ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ for why Dracula can move about in the day.
