Joe Manganiello actually played a character way late into campaign 1, so he’ll probably be there when they reached the part of the story his character appears

Joe Manganiello may have a cameo role in the background, but likely nothing major because he is actually a Critical Role guest, who plays a central character to the finale of Critical role. Given the length of the Campaign one, that won't be until season 3-4, and only 2 have been greenlit so far.

Here's a bit of trivia for anyone who is interested: Darin DePaul, who is voicing one of the lesser villains in The Legend of Vox Machina, played a character during Critical Role Campaign 1 that wasn't just one he thought of on the fly -- it was a character he had, before his appearance, created 37 years prior to being on Critical Role, and it was a character that he had actually played D&D with back then, when he played D&D with Matt Mercer's mother. So not only is was being on Critical Role a bit of homecoming for him, but the fact that he is lending his tremendous talents to The Legend of Vox Machina makes his performance all the sweeter, bringing everything together in a completed circle of sorts. PS: Who here, like me, remembers David Tennant being in Harry Potter? He played the one who was responsible for Black's incarceration in Azkaban.

BTW: Bobby Hall aka Logic, is a famous rapper that is big in nerdy culture.

Many other people have mentioned that Joe M. shows up as a canon character, so I will just pass over that. I am VERY glad to see a non-CR fan who seems stoked about this. It's such a fun campaign setting, and the players are incredible. I can't get over how awesome it is to see Vex in animation; she is my favorite.

If you get to watching Campaign 1, you will meet Darin De Paul near the end of the campaign, and you will absolutely fall in love with him. Amazing human and amazing player.

If Joe is in it, it might be in a later season as his actual CR character because his character is crazy towards the end of Campaign 1. Also Bobby Hall is the great artist/rapper, Logic, and he seems like a great guy! This show is gonna be great and I’m so happy that you decided to check this out! My last campaign I was chaotic neutral tiefling rogue (and I based him off of the anime character Lupin III) and it was such a blast for the small amount of time that we got to play. Might be starting up a new campaign soon and I might be going towards a dragonborn barbarian or some type of wild magic sorcerer…we’ll see lol.

My last D&D character? He was a Lightfoot Halfling, Rogue-Thief, with the Charlatan background. Chaotic Neutral. His name was Silence and he had a silver tongue. He loved money and luxuries, and would splurge on himself until it was time to steal or con for coin again. He hated guards and authority figures since they used to beat the shit out of him as a child, when all he wanted to do was steal for food. But he hung around the party members because he genuinely liked them and liked spending time with them. His main badass moment was stealing the bow of a gorgon without looking at her, one turn before she could draw it on the rest of the party.

I'm currently playing a goblin ranger named Stabby. He ate a magical fruit that caused him to grow antlers and develop some nature based magic. He's chaotic neutral and a little greedy but he mostly just wants people to think he's cool.

What gets me hyped is that there are big characters in the storyline coming up, late season 1 and 2, and with such a strong start I'm dreaming big! Also, great shirt.

Honestly this is such an opportunity to reach out to new audiences. Most of the main reaction channels i watch dont know critical role and wont be reacting. So im in a panic right now trying to find places reacting. Now subbed. Cant wait.

Joe Manganiello probably will not show up in season 1, his guest character in actual Critical Role came nearer to the end of the campaign....I cant stop thinking about what he did and how shocked I was. And also I always suggest checking out the cast members they announced on IMDb because a lot of the time people do know the cast without realizing it.

Joe's character will be showing up around season 3. There's no question he will be voicing his own character the problem is his character comes at the most epic final battle with I won't say who but he is there and they would never let anybody but him voices on character. A lot of respect there :-).

If you played the Decent into Avernus adventure, you probably ran across Arkhan the Cruel. That is Joe's character, Avernus is a continuation of his story from his run ins with Vox Machina. If you like Darin De Paul (who is an absolute gem of a human being) and Tolkien stuff (a comedic spin on it, mind you), then I can strongly recommend the Shadow of War two-shot. Sam, Laura, Travis and Darin play a crew of hapless Mordor minions setting out to kill some man-filth. Results are... mixed. All the sponsored one-shots from CR have turned out enormously entertaining, actually. Amazing cast. Especially excited for Grey Griffin (Azula from A:tlA) Excellent villian, but has the depth it nail that at its heart the Briarwoods is a story about love. For me my go to is Lawful Good Paladin/Knight. The person who just wants to protect and help his allies and the people. In the nature of Steve Rogers or Clark Kent.

If they ever get to the part where Joe Mangeniello's character Arkhan enters the story, that's probably when Joe will join the show.

I'm currently in a Lost Mine of Phandelver campaign (with the intent of continuing into custom storylines if our group manages to stick with it that long). Until this one, I always played the same character (because all our previous campaigns ended after only a handful of sessions and we never got to explore him): a tiefling warlock/wizard/sorcerer (depending on the campaign) of frost magic, whose demonic father killed his mother and abandoned him to an orphanage, so now he hates anything demonic/hellish (hence the frost magic instead of fire) and is trying to find out who his father was in order to get revenge. Growing up, his foster siblings tortured him for racist reasons, for being a tiefling, and now he feels compelled to seek justice for the helpless. He's got a very eye-for-an-eye sense of justice, though, so if he sees injustice, he tends to give the perpetrators a literal taste of their own medicine, no matter how violent; making him lawful neutral. But in my current campaign, I decided to try something different. So now I'm a goliath Death Domain cleric necromancer. I did some research and found out that, while goliaths aren't the most worship-y race, they do have a pantheon, but they don't exactly have a god of death. Instead, they have Kuliak, a goddess who was exiled by the rest of the pantheon for sleeping instead of doing her job, and she resents it. As part of the exile, goliaths generally never even say Kuliak's name except as part of funeral rites, making her the closest thing to a death god they have; but she's also become the patron goddess of exiled goliaths, for obvious reasons. My goliath became interested in Kuliak after hearing her name during a funeral prayer, but was told not to speak of her. That only made him more curious, and the more he learned, the more he became convinced that burying or burning the dead is a complete waste of potential resources. He thought if he could learn enough about necromancy to put the corpses to use, he could prove his ideas had merit to his clan, and also prove himself worthy of Kuliak's support. In his efforts, he was caught digging up a grave. As punishment, the clan elder branded him with the name Desecrator and exiled him forever. Now an exile, he reached out to Kuliak for protection, which she freely offered; in return, he became one of her clerics, and now spends his days traveling and trying to learn as much about death and necromancy as he can, in hopes that proving to Kuliak he truly understands what he's asking for will convince her to give him more power to revive the dead; in turn, he wants to use that power to prove he was right all along, to himself and to his clan: corpses *are* untapped potential for labor that shouldn't be buried away or destroyed. He's not evil, he's just pragmatic; he stands against anyone who would hurt others, and sees the dead as tools, not soldiers. He's currently true neutral, but I think he leans a bit lawful, at least according to his own code of pragmatic ethics. And honestly? He's been super fun to play. Death Domain clerics get some really nice spells and feats early on (Toll The Dead + Reaper + Metamagic Adept + Spiritual Weapon = At level 4, hoard encounters are just decimated). Funny thing is, Phandelver starts with a necromancer sidequest early on, a guy who claims he's not hurting anyone and is just using his zombies to look for treasure, which is right up my character's alley. But we also have a neutral evil PC in our party, so before my guy could ask if the wizard would mentor me, the other party member shanked him for not letting him steal the artifacts the wizard had found. So... my guy is pretty pissed at the murderhobo right now 😂

We are currently playing in exandria wildemount and Tal'dorei. My favorite character lately is my fairy drakewarden Nebula "nebby"

I tend to play CG or NG in terms of alignment. I like to play healers (either clerics or druids) or Charisma-based casters (sorcerers or warkocks). Resubscibing to watch you react to this!

I had hoped some other dnd community members would show up to voice some very small stuff. Like Matt Mercer has gone onto dimension 20 with Brennan Lee Mulligan and also did a few DM-relared podcasts with the mcelroy's. Those two other dnd groups have a lot of talent even if they're not professional voice actors.

Joe Mag's main DnD character shows up in the campaign this show is going through. I wont spoil anymore than that but he wouldnt be showing up in the first season thats for sure. But joe was a guest on the show so he will likely voice his own character.

Personally my safe role in DnD if I want to be comfortable or help others more newer into DnD and we have a noob'ish table, I always go Tiefling Rogue. Favorite Race, favorite class, the alignment is often just neutral, but if allowed by the DM, I like playing a Lawful Evil alignment whenever I'm with my Tiefling Rogue. I do enjoy playing him differently than what people would assume a Lawful Evil or Neutral Tiefling Rogue would be. I like to play him as a very sociable and easy going individual. I tend to build him more for Rp scenarios rather than for combat.

I am so hyped for this!!!! Joe will probably turn up at some point as Arkhan if this goes on for more than two series. I would also put money on Mary Elizabeth McGlinn (who is also the Voice Director for this) and Will Friedel reprising their roles as Zahra and Kash at some point. And Darin de Paul would hopefully come back as Sprigg (again if this gets more than two series). Current campaign is a take on Ghosts of Saltmarsh set in Oerth (Greyhawk campaign setting) (our DM used it as a basis and then homebrewed a lot of amazing shit including a city in the Underdark ruled over by an anciet black dragon, home to many denizens such as goblins, ghouls, vampires, drow and illithid). My character is an elven Life Cleric of Pelor with a Haunted One background (haunted by a spectre of her murdered brother whose soul we have discovered is currently trapped in Acheron). I'd essentially come up with a backstory that handed the DM a loaded pistol to shoot me with XD I love playing her though.

I am currently giving my Halfelf Cleric/Bloodhunter (Order of the Lycan) a rest as we pick up Storm King's Thunder. There I am playing Leonin Echo Knight/Monk. In a different campaign I am an Aasimar Valour Bard, where we just barely survived our first epic fight against a BBEG. I have been playing before Critical Role and been a Critter since I think it was episode 5 of their first campaign. So I am so looking forward to the animated series. Bidet, Critters!!

Do yourself a favor and watch campaign 1 before watching the animated series. You know, just set aside 300 hours and go for it!

I definitely have my top 3 characters I've ever played, all of them varying on the alignment chart. I have my first main character I played, Leukar, who was a Lawful Good Tiefling Paladin who was the moral compass of the party and convinced them that they needed to kill the BBEG. Then theres Doink Tough, my True Neutral Halfling Barbarian, who was raised from a very young age to worship Tempus and become the greatest warrior, and he later did and ended up becoming Tempus himself. And then the current character I'm playing is Rolen Meliamme, a Lawful Evil Changeling Wizard who was cast out from his family because he was a Changeling that was somehow born to a noble Elf family, and he is now willing to do anything to return to the normal family life that he wants, but mainly by becoming a more powerful Enchantment Wizard so he can control those that would get in his way
