I do believe that there has been several Emperors over Dalek History but I personally like the idea that the Dalek who shoot Davros who would rise through the ranks to become the Emperor in Evil like we see in Big Finish story Across the Darkened City to then return to lead the Daleks in the Time War I like that because it mirrors Rassilon returning to lead the Time Lords but that’s just my opinion that they are the same

I like that "pathweb" idea, having the same memories and personality across many physical forms. Thematically at least, it allows the Dalek Emperor to do something similar to a Timelord's regeneration cycle. Fitting as their greatest enemy is the Doctor, a Timelord. I dunno, that just sounds like something the Leader of the Daleks would do to spite the Doctor. "Anything _you_ can do, I can do _better."_

Oh that mantle idea is so cool, when an Emperor assumes it's position and place in the pathweb it slowly changes the Dalek through exposure to all other Daleks, their history, knowledge etc. Each Emperor is surrounded by absolutely everything "Dalek" and over time it becomes an embodiment of all things Dalek, the most Dalek-y of them all. That puts a fascinating spin on the "god" concept too; it's personality is literally the sum of all Daleks, and it's physical form is just a vessel for the Dalek concept. That neeeeeds to be explored further!!

The daleks have been without a truly formidable and distinct leader for a long time, would really love to see a new emperor rise to power in the next season. Could even finally give the Eternal Dalek some relevance, having it lead the transition of the collapsing Paradigm into the next Dalek Empire and appoint themselves as its emperor.

I like to think that the Dalek Prime was one of the very first, and held a rank very simular to a Dalek Supreme. Maybe that might be a good NuWho / Big Finish storyline, where the Doctor encounters the daleks prior to the first Dalek Invasion of Earth but far after Genesis.

I personally support the idea of Dalek Prime having not only been a real Dalek, but having been the Emperor for much of Dalek history - I don't believe Prime to have been the _only_ Dalek to have ever held the rank, but I believe it makes a lot of sense for him to have been the leader as it adds some continuity between stories; we see his early days and penchant for leadership in Genesis, his influence as expressed through the many early Dalek plots in the 60s stories (and possibly later), his ascended role as Emperor in Evil and ultimately his "final end" in the Parting of the Ways. The Big Finish stories do a lot to help in this regard, with "the Lights of Skaro" implying that the Emperor from Evil has lived for 100,000 years by the time of the latter story and with "Restoration of the Daleks" having the original Emperor (i.e. Prime) being resurrected in the Time War and becoming the god-emperor.

The Dalek Prime being a frightening legend makes sense.

This is unrelated, but I recently watched your video about Jubilee recently and it led to me giving the full story a listen. It’s fantastic! So glad I could give it a listen. The similarities to RTD’s “Dalek” are uncanny, and yet the story is also equally unique and compelling. It’s even got some Moffat-esque wibbly wobbly aspects to it. I would love to see more Dalek stories, live action or otherwise, in the vain of Jubilee. One of the best DW stories I’ve encountered in a long time! I’m going to start going down the rabbit hole of more Audios, so wish me luck!

Me!! I named my channel after the Dalek prime as I found it really interesting. I read the EDA book War of the daleks where the Dalek prime’s description is very similar to the gold comic book emperor with the big head! This is also the book that says he was the Dalek who killed davros. The Dalek prime is name dropped in every John peel Dalek book I’ve read, he definitely liked the Dalek prime.

I do really like the idea that the Dalek prime killed Davros and then is the constant Emperor through Evil of the Daleks up to The Parting of the Ways. With the common Dalek idea that one somehow always survives I like to think it's often the Emperor

For me the dalek prime is one of my favourite daleks mainly because he was the first emperor and was characterised as being almost reasonable and calm in some media which I like because it shows how manipulative and clever he is. While I think he survived evil of the daleks and ruled over the first and second dalek empires I do think he died in emperor of the daleks as there’s no way he could of survived and I think it’s unlikely he is the god emperor because of how different they are. But I do like the theory that the his mind transfers into another body if he dies as that’s how I think he survives evil of the daleks and I like to think that the dalek that wakes up at the end is the emperor yet he still died in that comic because at the time the command network was in chaos and probably was shut down so he would of died in that comic

I think the Dalek Prime Strategist is the Dalek Prime.

Dalek civilisation is a lot like Aldous Huxley's BRAVE NEW WORLD, each Dalek is genetically engineered to purpose, and the Emperor is made to purpose like every other one and there is no relationship to previously existing Emperors, at least, that's what I think.

I personally like to think that the prime is the same dalek as the evil emperor and the time war emperor. To me, the reason why this is the case is because the emperor has been waiting to return during classic who and thats why he was absent in 5th 6th and 7th doctor stories. If you treat them as the same individual, it makes sense to me because it waited so long during parting of the ways to make its invasion. I do like the idea that could also be a personality that passes dalek to dalek, I just dont really like the idea of the emperor being a different dalek each time because it makes the rank less powerful because its been defeated fatally multiple times.

Bit of a headcanon moment here, but had a thought of what if the Eternal Dalek was the Dalek Prime, in the sense the 'Eternal' part of its name shows that it's the oldest dalek in existence, or the first, though the idea of the dalek that killed davros becoming emperor makes sense

They should bring Dalek Prime into the show proper. After Flux, I can see him return, using his 100% pure Dalek DNA to regrow the Dalek empire.

The idea of the Dalek Prime being this symbolic figure/title instead of an individual is interesting to me because it would be one of the very few things the Daleks would have culturally. Like how even after all this time fledgling remains of human concepts like cultural figures still remain

Since you have done the Dalek prime since I have read the comics any explanation on Zeg being the same Dalek as the red leader as the context in the strip that introduces the red leader the Daleks say "he should be exterminated he is a traitor" i think i cannot remember i need to re-read the book

What about if the Dalek Prime was the First Dalek Emperor slain by the Second Doctor, and was then resurrected in the Time War by the Time Strategist. Between that period other Dalek Emperors could have been elected by the Supreme Council. Otherwise prehaps you're theory of it being like a Super Ego imposed over the Dalek Leader, could work given the Neural Pathway though I am unfamiliar with this aspect of Dalek lore.
