Cogar Oklahoma is listed as the birth place of my mother, March 5th 1925. She was actually born on my grandfather's farm near Cogar but Cogar was the closest place with a Post Office that could be recognized for official records purposes.

This store has been in my dad's family forever, Uncle Carl was it's last and final caretaker. We adult kids have the greatest memories of " the farm" I remember when grandma Rhetta fed the crew from the movie Rain Man. We young girls were very jealous that they were photographed with Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman. It's still there today, waiting...patiently for our return. @AbandonedAtlasFoundation thank you for your kind words. We, as adult children, have of course gradually spread out. Our dad, Leroy is Carl's brother. The last time we saw Carl and Elaine were at dad's funeral in 2019. His side has ALWAYS been very nonchalant, quiet and of the , uh..ok whatever attitude 🙄 My adult daughter found this mini documentary today on KZfaq and sent it to me. My sister and I had no idea Carl ever did this which of course is TOTALLY Carl 😆. I'd like to forward the foundation info to her as she was asking about that. i actually live 4 miles away from the cogar store and ive made a few short movies of drifting cars by the store on my main youtube account.

"Coe" "gurrr" as us Okie"s pronounce it was my great grandparents home town. Most of my family Headrick and Armstrong's are buried in Hazel Dell cemetery just short drive from that exact spot. I being a somewhat local to the area photographer use this location frequently for senior pictures and other really cool photo opportunties. I hope this buidling stays around for many more generations as it is a piece of Oklahoma , Cogar and my family of Headrick and Armstrong's history.

No, that was a group from the UK filming a TV show. Everything in our video was shot in 2020.

Oh, that’s weird, because that’s how Carl Lehman pronounced it in his interview several times. And he lived there all his life.

Is this the one in Rainman because im watching it now in England and i wanted too know where in the US they are..So they stop off at a WS kelly so i type it in Google and this video turns up...cray stuff America looks amazing when you see th eopen spaces like this...This is the America i want too see driving into the unknown...Amazing
