In fairness, they were waaaaaay more suspicious of Random Prison Woman in the campaign. Multiple insight checks and other tests to see what was up. Since Ripley was in diaguise, Percy didn't know her right away.

@@WolfgirlAidan Yep! As a cranky little old lady! I thought the reveal in the stream was very clever. Given that she's not in disguise here, it makes it a little odd Cassandra didn't recognize Ripley and warn everyone.

in the campaign ripley was magically disguised as an old lady and once they found out she was ripley, she's the one that led vax to cassandra. without ripley cassandra probably would have been killed or used for worse means later

Nah, Cassandra was bait for a trap, the Briarwoods were counting on her being found. Interested to see how she talks her way out of Percy’s line of fire without that leverage next episode.

To clarify, Astral projection is normally outside of cleric class and more so for monks in 5e. But I think that its use here with Pike is in reference to Clerics being able to use it in Pathfinder around level 9. That harkens back to the origins with the prestream games where they used Pathfinder.

Also, the fact that Ashley Skyped into the games when she could, so it was an easy way to write Pike in and out when she could make it.

That can easily be chalked up to her being in the sanctum of a temple and having a divine revelation. I don't think we ever see her use it on her own.

Delilah also used to be the Archmage of Antiquity on the Cerberus Assembly, before they discovered her dabblings in necromancy to save Sylas and they were chased out of Wildemount to the Menagerie Coast. She was replaced by Vess Derogna

In a perfect world, absolutely, but we have been shown teaser for two more arcs in this series. I am not even sure what season two can cover all of the Conclave in one season. So we are talking 4 seasons, just for LVM, but I will take all of them I can get.

This makes me wonder...Matt just said that Sylas got sick and Delilah turned to dark magic to save him; he never mentioned how he got sick. Could The Whispered One have made Sylas sick in order for Delilah to become a follower? I believe it was mentioned that she was a powerful caster in her own right.

Yeah, not just powerful caster. She was an archmage of the Cerberus Assembly banned and exiled from Wildemount for her experiments in Necromancy. So she’s at the level of the strongest wizards in Exandria

Pike showing up like Lileth (from the borderlands video games) like a boss with the "sup" and everything!!! Think we saw her use her channel divinity to destroy undead, and the spells spiritual weapon, flamestrike, and holy weapon in that epic sequence... Pike is a MONSTAH!!!

I believe the original goal was for 750.000 for a single animated special ( I think essentially the pre-stream part ) but they blew past 3.5 million after a single day and ultimately raised like 11 million dollars. I hope this does well and we get all of Campaign one.

If I'm going to guess, Season 2 will be part 1 of a much longer Chroma Conclave arc. It'll deal with the build up, including events like the Kevdark arc and THAT EVENT in Episode 40 (don't look it up).

Yeah it's super scary when you realize that, out of the 5 people on the list, Sylas Briarwood is at the middle. There's two people even stronger than him Percy's out to kill, and Sylas is a vampire lord weilding craven edge

VERY LIGHT SPOILERS . . . . . . . . The thing that makes Ripley dangerous is her intellect. She's a smart and cunning opponent, someone on Percy's level. Outside of the Briarwoods, the other targets didn't really pose any real challenge to Percy. Ripley changes that. I'll leave it at that. She's like the Moriarty to Percy's Sherlock.

Watching these last episodes Dunstin is so funny with his cheeky looks over at Wendy’s reactions. I literally watch one episode then over to your reaction. Honestly I have never been into D&D but love anime and your reactions and insight into Critical Role have made this show even better for me. Keep it up guys

Just to tease, not spoil per se. Percy's guns use black power. Eventually he'll need to resupply. That woman needs a new hand, a mechanical one. A "Nice Lady" with a mechanical hand. I can't wait to see that beloved NPC animated.

Well didnt see the brairwood origin coming but given grey delisle did hint at it with delilahs motivations, this ep went from train yo busan to attack on titan fast, archie pulling a budapest reference and his tragic end, percy finally saying his full name and his clifhanger with rippley at the end. Also pikes whole thor arrival in wakanda moment was badass. Not to mention vax x keyleth moment YES!!!!!!

As the show has been scripted to the spirit of the Briarwood arc, it reflects the failures and successes of dice rolls and player choices. I think someone trying to write a similar story from scratch would've had less failures and more heroic moments. I cant believe its almost over for season 1 ! Now we just have to get Trinket to learn how to astral project from the Keep.

Thanks for the heads up. Just tried fixing it. It's been giving us issues where it'll be in the correct order (first episode to newest episode) and then a couple days later it changes orders by itself. The struggle! lol. Please let us know if it's showing up in the correct order, at least for now.

MILD spoiler warning for campaign 2 Wendy, how far are you in campaign 2? There is something towards the end, like episode 102 I think that ties into campaign 1 that will be more enjoyable having seen these characters first or if you already saw it, to go back and watch those moments =)

I realized time is a fickle mess and I live in Ohio and your both in California, and you have not watched it yet. This episode had some great graphics but I was waiting for The Night King from GOT to show up.

SPOILER WARNING DO NOT PROCEED UNLESS YOU'VE WATCHED ALL OF CAMPAIGN 1 *YOU WERE WARNED.* That entity, in C1, was Vecna, The Whispered One, a long dead necromancer of major historical significance. Sadly, due to copy right laws they can't use Vecna, so most likely they will retcon his role into that of Opash, another very powerful necromancer from history. Love your reactions!! Wendy, your reactions are so fun to watch, the visceral reaction you had to Cass! Seeing a "new" critter experience LoVM is pure joy, and Dustin, I looooove watching your poker face break when you know what's coming! Maybe you shouldn't have talked about who it was in the dungeon? They might as the did in the rpg. game have to use some time before they realizes it the animated series?
