This is a walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of the second quest found in the NES game The Legend of Zelda. After beating the game or by naming the file Zelda, you can play the second quest, which mixes up things quite a bit.
You'll notice that there are times I take some detours to my next destination. This is because I'm trying to earn enough cash to buy certain items or to have enough to get through certain dungeons. I'm pretty sure I found all the hidden rupee spots....

Zelda is the reason I am a gamer. This experience solely changed my life. Before Zelda there was just stages at a time with bosses. Zelda gave me a map, compass, and a shit load of items and weapons. And told me to explore the world of Hyrule.

I just found appreciation for this game. I’m 22 so I wasn’t around when it came out, but I have my dads old nes and games and I recently beat the first quest. Definitely a great game, I enjoy it a lot. As a kid I didn’t know any of the secrets and the only level I could find was the first one, so I didn’t really enjoy it much back then.

@@Rumblefan Had a similar experience as a kid. I was only vaguely familiar with the Zelda games because of Smash so I bought this game on the Wii virtual console and played maybe an hour of it and gave up. I recently beat it with the help of the guide on Zelda Dungeon and was kinda disapointed when I saw they didnt have one for the 2nd Quest.

Ahhh the vaunted second quest of the original Zelda. It took quite a bit of effort, but I did beat it, which included getting every item, every bomb and every heart container....and I recall needing basically all of it! Great game! Legendary!! Games like these in terms of difficulty and puzzle crap all over the games of today, especially snce back then...we had NO HELP!

Nah. I had this game since it was new (Even had the gold plated cartridge of it). I did study and practice with a guide I found online to help to figure out where all the hidden goodies were though. Same goes for the dungeons and figuring out the best routes/etc.... Wasn't too much of a fan of the second quest back in the day, but I knew the first one pretty well.

This is definitely one of the best games of all time, if not the best. I just beat the first and second quest. It took me about two weeks, if that. On my spare time. The only thing that sucks is that I have to keep my Nintendo Switch on pause the whole time to keep my progress. I also went to level 7 when I shouldn’t have during the 2nd quest and got stuck because I didn’t have the stepladder and couldn’t get across to the door and didn’t have any weapons to kill the red knight to open the other door so I could go back. Needless to say I had to turn it off and go at it again from the start. I was heading to level 5 when this happened and came across level 7 and got screwed lol. Anyways, this game brings back memories, Joy, and nostalgia from 1986 when I was just 5 years old. It sucks after you beat it because now I have nothing to look forward to. 😩😢😂

Can't help but wonder why and how they had enough time to put in a second quest before release date, seeing as how people most would only play the first quest. Guess it just had to deal with Nintendo making NES games insanely hard to beat. "So you needed maps and a Game Genie to get through the first quest, well FU.." Got to say that I was impressed that all the dungeon maps literally fit together like an origami into the mapspace, but makes sense from a programmers standpoint. I also miss how the NES would always slow down when too many enemies were in a room.

My theory is that most kids thought his name was Zelda because the title has a big ZELDA all over the title and the box and so on.. Although me and my gaming friends when I was 7-8 years old laughed at others thinking the guy was named Zelda, that also being a girls name (except that we knew the story). However Zelda is extremely rare name in Sweden.

Thank you for replying. I intended for the hearts represent the starting life bar in LoZ. I hope he wouldn't have been embarrassed, but I suppose I didn't clarify. 😅 I continue to enjoy Jeremy's gameplay videos, and I thank him for his passion and desire to share. Thank you, too. 🙂

@@CollateralTechMisc I suppose he would have understood what you intended. However I like my interpretation. Jeremy was so shy, he said he liked girls, but he never knew how to talk to them. So as a dad I like the idea that there was some "romantic" flavor, even though I understand that was not your intention. He would have been such a good loving guy if he had ever found a girl, but he never did. I hope this doesn't sound too goofy. Jeremy's dad

I was digging your video until you got to level one. Then the screen kind of off and centered and never one was up way higher than it should have been I couldn't see the bottom because the screen was so off-centered so great video loved it kill all those things on Zelda hate them all great video I just wish you would fix the the center in this on the blevells a levels are not scented I can't see everything which kind of sucks I still gave you a thumbs up because you are the man or woman whatever you are and thumbs up is how you go if you're you leaving comes down on KZfaq ur not cool.

NES Zelda games should have started the story of Zelda off with Gandorf (the human sorcerer) as the main/final boss in Legend of Zelda 1. And after his death in the 1st game Gandorf should have appeared as his dead Demon self in his 2nd form known as " Gannon" on The Adventure of Link 2 (the 2nd NES game).
@subzero8679

sainttrunks1982, Ganondorf wasn't created until a link to the past for SNES, so when the NES Zelda games came out, only Ganon existed.
