Thanks, Foggy. I am as well, but I prefer the old ones before the company sold out. The company out of Tennessee that bought the names and rights started having them produced again, but from China. I think now another company owns them and they are being produced again here in the USA. At least I have seen some on Amazon that are new, the name tag on the handle looks a little different, but you can see the USA stamped on them. Not sure, but when I go to eBay and look these knives up, to maybe buy one, I look at the pictures of the blades to make sure the stamp of USA is on there or I don't bother with it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

nice video bud. i have 2 buck knifes one is 42yrs old and semi retired and the other is going on 25 yrs old. them 2 are the only ones i have ever used since i started hunting. and love them both. the first my mother bought me from of all places kmart, for my first hunting season i do have my dads hunting knifes but them are fully retired. i was never a big knife collector. those 2 bucks knifes always did the job for me. thanks for sharing it with us

Thanks, Dan. I am not really a collector either, but I like these knives and the two small ones was for my small game hunting and of course the big 150OT Deer Slayer was for deer hunting. The others just came along over time. Then when I heard the original Schrade, Uncle Henry, Old Timer had filed bankruptcy I got a few others. As I mentioned these have all been retired. That Woodsman that I won from Caldwell for Christmas, I may use it, not sure. Wednesday night I have a video coming out to show what knives I use now since retiring these. You might like it. Thanks for watching and commenting, Dan. Juddie - J & J TOA

I have never heard of that brand of knives. I will have to check them out, but I need more knives like I need a hole in the head. LOL We don't want to see our children struggle just as soon as they enter adulthood. I remember just after getting married right out of high school, working part time, trying to have a home and how hard it was. It took me over 40 years to acquire the things I hunt with. So, when my son showed the same interest in hunting like me, I knew it was time so start acquiring things for him. By the time he started working part time, he already had a shotgun, a rifle or two, knives and a 4 wheel drive (a hand me down, my old truck when I got a newer one). As parents it is our hopes and prayers that our children will do better than we did, and helping them out is one of our responsibilities. I am proud of both of my son's, both are hard workers, good men, good husbands and good fathers. Sorry, sounds like I am bragging, I guess I am. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA

Nice collection, shame you have to retire those older knives, but as long that they get used in the future to who you give them to, Schrader was always a good knife maker and to bad they went out, but I still would buy there knives today, I have a uncle henry lock back folder that I have had for over 20 years, carry it on me on and off duty on my gear belt and some times different types of lock back folders that I have more trust in, like to more of your videos in the future, stay safe and healthy...

Thanks, Fred. One of the biggest reasons I retired those Schrade, Old Timer, Uncle Henry's was due to the fact that the company no longer existed (the real company) and if I lost or broke one I would have no way to replace it. I know that another company bought the names and rights and are reproducing those knives, at first, they were being made in China, now I heard and have seen on Amazon that there are some being made in the USA. But still to me, they aren't the originals. Now there may come a day that I may feel nostalgic and take one of them out for a squirrel hunt or a deer hunt. Just to remember those times of having them in the woods. I know that the collection will be passed down to my grandchildren sometime. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA

Thanks! Oh, I have a small tote, about the size of a shoe box, that has other knives from different manufactures and places of manufacturing. Those though to me are just your tool box type knives, well there are a couple of hunting knives, but their not the good ole try and true and what most hunters carried. You got that right, you can never have two many knives!! You need one or two in every draw in the house. LOL Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA

Thank you, Todd. Wait for the next video to come out later this week, you will see what I replaced these that I retired with. I think you will like it as well. I have one Case knife that Jerod gave me. He got it working in the mines with some kind of points he earned. There are other Old Timer knives that I have, pocket knives, that I have and have put up. Some have the tips broke off, using them for things they weren't intended to be used for. Of course, that happened back in my early years, now I use a knife for what it was intended to be used for instead of trying to use them as a pry bar or a screw driver. You're welcome, Dennis. I haven't taken any of the Schrade's out in years. Before I got the Buck's I did carry a Camillus brand fix blade knife, then I started carrying the Buck's. The Sharp Finger, Drop Point and the Deer Slayer were my main knives for years. While squirrel hunting and rabbit hunting I carried one of the small ones, and then every deer season I had the Deer Slayer on my side. Like I mentioned, I wore out the leather sheath for the Deer Slayer and had to get a replacement. Once I heard that Schrade was closing, I retired them. Thanks for watching and commenting. Well, now Mike, it isn't a contest. LOL I love the old steel and as you noticed, the three that were used a lot back in the 80's through the early 2000's have stories behind them. Those green handled one I bought have never seen the woods and most likely never will, at least not by me. Yes, that one that looks like a 110 is very special to me since I bought it for my father-in-law. Each of these brings back some sort of memory or two. That is what I was saying, like the 150OT Old Timer Deer Slayer, I saw that one go over $200 on eBay. I honestly think what drives those prices up is the fact they were made in the US at a time when we had good steel. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA

@@JnJTrueOutdoorAdventures oh! Got ya. The Mora knives have poly handles that stay put. When you go to the Mora Bushcaft they assemble it with epoxy between the 2/3 rat tail tang and handle. All of these are retired now and someday will be handed down to my son's and grandson's. I just hope they will cherish them. Yes, the quality just isn't the same for sure. Even the green handled knives that were made here in the US doesn't have the quality of the older ones. I still think that is one reason Schrade, Old Timer, Uncle Henry started down hill towards bankruptcy, they were trying to make knives that didn't require a lot of quality like the brown handled ones or the Golden Spike. That was a great looking knife!! Finding a USA made one is probably going to be hard. I am sure a person could check on eBay and possibly find one, but who knows how well it has been taken care of. As for being made in China, I believe I mentioned that there are some good steel coming out of China, and I believe like on the Schrade/Uncle Henry/Old Timer they are using good steel for them. But I am not 100% certain on that. I know many years ago, the blades of China were really junk. I do prefer US made blades, that is why I hold onto these that I have, 40 years of collecting. Thanks, Josh. Well, you can still find these. I have searched eBay, like I mentioned in the video, and found some of the USA made ones. Of course, they aren't new and I would worry if someone said new in the box. The ones that I have found though have been expensive and one reason for that is people know what they have. Then you have the crooks on eBay who will try and pawn off a China made one as the original and you won't know it until you have paid for it and receive it in the mail. People who have these US made ones and are selling them on eBay or yard sales know what they have and want top dollar for them. These knives here, as I mentioned, will get passed down to my son's and grandson's one day. I may even pass them down to them before I leave this world so I know they get them. Just keep looking you will find some and may find them for a reasonable price. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
