Hange Zoë is the 14th and current Commander of the Scout Regiment, formerly a section commander in charge of the Fourth Squad, until the death of the 13th Commander - Erwin Smith - who named Hange as his successor shortly before. Hange conducts research on Titans to the point of being obsessed with them. As a result, they are deeply interested in Eren Jaeger and his ability to transform into a Titan.

Hange's personality is a dark reflection of Aot's dark and deadly world. The cheerfulness is a mask that hides a dark side of dissection, torture and cold blooded killing and yet through it all still manages to acknowledge that it's not normal and can show remorse. A light and dark duality of that blood soaked world where genocide is as common as a moonlit night.

@@wksm6973 the author intended for hange’s gender identity to be ambiguous, it’s not some “pronoun bullshit” that some others try to force onto previously existing characters. The anime uses a female VA Hange but that’s just a VA.

I think it was very unique in it's themes and presentation especially for the time And I dunno maybe people just liked the story lol the movie is a masterpiece imo

2:19 fun fact about this solider. the titan they found there was the person who lead the worship on ymir, and the titan form always stayed around the forest to bow down to the solider because the solider looked like ymir. the titan ended up biting her head off but would always stay near to bow down to it whenever.

My favorite character in the series! Doesn't stand out as much as others but only because she's always operating in the background to ensure everything is going according to plan. Balances intellect and leadership with empathy and strength and reflects a level of maturity missing in all other characters that are too easily driven by one primary instinct or motive. Only Armin and Erwin come close to this level of cognitive and emotional complexity but they also lack many of the traits and qualities that make her a good mediator, both between people (diplomacy) and the different parts of her own multi-faceted personality (self-composure). Then again, 'epic' adventures like this are not about the attitude and mindset that can survive and succeed in our world, but rather in the fictional world of the show that perhaps demands the grand motives and overdramatic abilities of Eren, Levi, and the like, after all.

Hanji is my fave character and I think their dearh was kind of forced but still... It breaks my heart to know that they wont see the world they have fought for but at the same time their sacrifice not only shows the amazing character theu are but also how much they trust their companions and that in the end, hange sees them as more than subordinates but literally trusts them with their life.... I feel like they are a super underrated character + they are super hot lmao

Yes this is true I wish some people wouldn't just say Hange is non binary because Isayama never comfirmed Hange's gender he just said it's what ever the reader sees Hange as so Hange technically goes by all pronouns (I see Hange as a female though)

@@user-ft1uh9yo1s Same but I’ve been seeing some people call people who see Hange as a female transphobic because they aren’t respecting Hange’s pronouns even though Isayama said it’s up to the reader and also Isayama originally said Hange was a women but later left it up to the reader because he started to draw her more masculine.
