Suyin Beifong is the founder and leader of Zaofu, the daughter of Toph Beifong, and the younger half-sister of Lin. She is a powerful metalbender, as well as a skilled and nimble dancer. Suyin is happily married to an architect named Baatar, with whom she has five children; she considers family of utmost importance.

- Varrick was taken by the circus people when he was young - Suyin was a part of a circus crew after she had left Republic City - Suyin gave a refugee to Varrick in Zaofu after he'd escaped Republic City and mentioned that him and her used to be colleagues in the past. Did both of them take part in the same circus?

Some people don't seem to know this: Aang wasn't a bad dad, he just was focused on something bigger than his entire family, and because of that, he didn't have time for all his kids, but loved them regardless. TOPH is a BAD mom. She actively dismissed her rule following daughter Lin, and continuously helped Suyin get away with her rebellious behavior and troublemaking. She was a bad mother figure, which makes sense for her as a person due to her upbringing and life in general.

My issue with the Aang thing though is we never get to hear Katara’s side of the story. And she is still alive and well in Korra so there was no excuse to not have her clear the air up.

Suyin is one of the best characters in Legend of Korra along with Tenzin, Lin, Bumi, and Kya. I would've love see more stories of Suyin before she founded Zaofu.

Fun fact that I’ve seen a lot of people misinterpret: Bolin didn’t actually hit P’li’s third eye in the Red Lotus Attack; he bounced it off her face and it intercepted the combustion beam, which knocked her and Ghazan out due to the proximity of the blast.

Suyin did not forgive Kuvira in LoK, Bryke had to make it up in the comics years later because people complained Suyin was a hypocrite and mary sue. Even in the comics, Suyin only forgave Kuvira after Kuvira admitted she was wrong, she did not help Kuvira or properly guide her, nor acknowledge her as family. Opal was supposed to play the bad cop but the dialogue made little sense since they were effectively on the same page. Bryke are terrible at characterization.

i think she's 100% to blame for both kuvira and jr's actions. If suyin would've just taken the offer to take wu's place, she could have taught kuvira about being a responsible, compassionate and considerate leader then pass the torch to her once she saw kuvira had the right mindset instead she wanted to be neutral for the sake of 'not wanting to force her beliefs on others', which made absolutely no sense. su's situation reminds me a lot of obi-wan's; they both had the opportunity to stop something really bad from happening but they let their pride and self-identity ruin their judgment. kuvira would've made an excellent leader with suyin's guidement

In the book 'Avatar the last airbender legacy', a book that Aang wrote to Tenzin, he says "this is where your auntie Toph is from" when talking about the Earth Kingdom. I guess this confirms that Sokka is Suyin's father.

Good video on Suyin. When watching the part on why she didn't accept the offer to stabilize the Earth Kingdom, I get the feeling that it may have a resemblance on why Naruto didn't help the Rain Village as he promised to Nagato during the start of the Kara arc, since it would only make the people see the 7th Hokage as a conquer & greeted with nothing but war as Suyin explained. Well I don't know about you, but what do you think?

Yeah I’m going to have to side with Lin here, Suyin was an entitled bitch and barely suffered from any consequences for her actions because mother was soft on her. And Suyin has the nerve to act like Lin should’ve been the one more apologetic to her despite being the one who gave her permanent scars in the first place for doing her job.

When I heard toph mention her parents, that must mean that Lao and poppy got back together after Lao changed his selfish ways. I’m guessing that after Suyin was sent to live with them, they express their disappointment to her for her reckless actions and attempt to urge her not to make the same mistakes Lao made.

So you know the legend of genji it has two avatars and only one is the real one but you know when vato and Korra’s uncle became one the evil avatar arose so I think one of them might be the real avatar and the other will be the evil avatar

There is no evil Avatar. The writers stated that when Korra killed Unavaatu she killed him while he was in the Avatar State so he did not reincarnate. It also wouldn't make sense as Dark Avatar Unalaq only had water so the Avatar after him would be another waterbender.

She wasn't a member of the triad, she was just an accessory. And she wasn't close to killing Lin, just scarring her. But the point of her not going to jail is to emphasize on that rehabilitation works better than punishment. Just look at Kai.
