@Misha, even more, not only is his confidence with the voice actor, but he realized the fact that they have their jobs due to their skill and knowledge. They know what they are doing. Having these executives in the booth, sadly, lead the sound operator to be anxious of his results. This resulted to his quick speech at the start, compare to his last "How's that?" I hope that this is the message of the short film. I very much enjoyed it. Plus for the laughs throughout the video and especially for the acting on behalf of the terrified voice actor. 👏👏👏

I once went to a voice actor's panel at a small convention. He told the story of a time when he (an American, black man) was auditioning for the role of a South African villain. Before the audition, he gathered every piece of source material he could find of the South African accent, and practiced it until he was confident. On the day of the audition, he read the lines and the client asked him to make it sound more "South African". He tried again, and again, each time laying into the accent heavier, until on one go he decided to try a mean-sounding Jamaican accent. He got the part.

This reminds me of one of Aesop's fables called "The Buffoon and the Countryman." It's where a man imitates a bunch of animals at a fair and makes his crowd laugh; then he imitates a pig noise. The crowd, of course, loves it; but a countryman standing nearby calls him out for making a noise that didn't sound like a real pig's. The countryman says the next day he will return and show everyone what a real pig sounds like. The next day he kept his word and returned. The crowd threw things at him to make him stop squealing because they thought the noise so horrible. Then the countryman revealed a pig whose ear he had been pinching to make it squeal. The moral of the story is, "Men often applaud an imitation and hiss the real thing." The fable doesn't match _exactly_ with this situation, but I thought it would be worth mentioning.

Marlon Tapel from the looks of it, they definitively know what they're looking for but with a Pro Voice or they wouldn't have asked them in the first place or be there with them. You know what...this Channel is putting controvertial vídeos that aren't inspiring at all and what I saw was a small studio trying to please but could not deliver to high budget customers that definitely know what their looking for, simple for me
@nigeljames60176 жыл бұрын
Ruben Chavez If by “this Channel” you mean Omeleto, I must disagree with you that they don’t put out inspiring films. There have been some that I have not particularly liked, but most have a story to tell. Even if you don’t like the story, you have, most times, to sit and think about what you have just watched. That in itself leads to inspiration.

This isn't pushed to a breaking point. Just a normal day for voice actors! I have been doing voice acting for 12 years now. Trust, this is actually 100% ACCURATE! Clients on a skype call telling you contradictory things and you never know if you really are doing what they want and fact is, most times THEY don't know what they want and this is so accurate. When you give them every nuance imaginable and they still aren't happy, THIS is what you do! hahaha 24K thumbs down cuz mePhone idiots don't understand the premise of the skit. Good film! He gave her exactly what she asked for!

TruthSurge yeah I’d imagine they don’t know what they want to hear until they’ve heard it. Which in all fairness it can be hard to describe exactly what you want to hear even if you do know. Either way I have a new respect for what you do
@TruthSurge3 жыл бұрын
@@Shady90133 Sure, that is why I always send samples for them to pick from even if they hire me just on word of mouth. It helps them to see what all possibilities exist and so maybe 2 or 3 or 4 voices/deliveries. Then once you nail down tthe style/sound, you record, hope it's all good but sometimes there are revisions. Mistakes. Rarely do I have to redo an entire script but in 12 years I have had to do that a few times. If it's my fault, I'll do it for free, if it's their fault and it's a lot of txt, I will ask for some amt of $ for doing it. But usually, things work out okay. But if you get micro-directed, it can really start to affect your confidence and actually backfire and you just feel like everything you are saying sucks. hahaha

the world of joinery is just as bad. someone wants a design made with a specfific type of wood. but that wood is too weak so i have to use a different type. it always ends like the video does, with me building it out of what they want and then it immediately collapses.

This reminds me of when I was a photographer working with brides when it comes to discussing wedding photos. It did not take me long before I pretty much began telling brides to take what I give or go find another photographer!
