Between the 2nd and 3rd centuries all liturgical institutions had been implanted, though clearly only in a still elementary form. The definitive detachment of Christian communities from Judaism dates back to this period. This was facilitated by the opening to paganism, which however also led to the integration of new cultic practices in addition to the rites inherited from the apostolic era. The #liturgy was enriched with some elements from the mystery cults, clearly reinterpreted for Christian use.
In this first episode we analyse #baptism, #penitence, #marriage and the cult of the #defects and martyrs between the 2nd and 3rd centuries.
