I cannot even express how in love I am with The Lumineers. It's extremely rare to find a band that I love every single song of, and they've done it. They put so much thought into each song and I'm always mesmerised when listening to them. They sound even better live in the studio compared to the album version and that's certainly something special. Hats off to them.

Listened to this a lot during winter time, now whenever I hear it I remember the darkness in my house, sitting by the fire place while it snowed outside the windows.

i grew up with the Lumineers, this band will always hold a special place in my heart

I love how this song, Slow it down and Gale song speak truth to my heart. I once asked the person i loved if i am causing them a lot of burden because i am the type of person that may ask for too much in any kind of relationship ( if i felt like i was not treated good enough) and they said i was not a burden and went on explaining that they were just really busy for the past days so thats why they didnt reach out to me when i was missing them so bad hahaha. Anyhow, fast forward 6 months after that, i dropped the L bomb at the end of the call we had during new year's eve and they went on saying " okay, bye" and nothing further ( because i said Love you when we were about to hang up). the day after that they turned me down in a way that couldn't be more "embittered". We had a conversation about long-distance relationship and i said that i believe long-distance relationships would work out if the love is strong enough. Their words carved into my bones when they said to me that " there doesnt exist such thing as a strong love or not-strong-enough love, its just love or not love, because if you love someone you must already have been in a relationship with them by now", which meant that they didnt want to be in a relationship with me because they would have said ily back if i said those 3 words to them if they love me. After that I actually felt more sad about the thought that im not loveable, that i am " not good enough for them" than the thought that they didnt love me per se. Right now i am navigating myself out of that dillusional stage to get my shits together. And because we were really close friends so i want to keep the friendship as true to my values( that i care about my best friends and listen to what they are frowned upon) meaning hearing all their rants( sorry if i didnt put the words correctly) about how they miss their ex. This hurt me in a way thinking that they were always in love with their ex and not me even though they were the one who dropped the L bomb first ( at that time i wasnt sure yet if i do love them so i didnt say it back but i was keeping the friendship as normal as it is) and we became really close friend eversince. Just a lot of mixed signals and confusion and they gave up on me after a few months, saying that they first thought it was love but thinking clearly about it, it was not. This really made me think to what great length do i have to go make people love me when i had done all that i could have? I would never be good enough, some of us would never be good enough, for love, ever.
