For setting the depth, I just screw the nut all the way down, position it in the MLOK slot, then slowly loosen the screw while pushing inward on it with the wrench. The nut will then back out until it clears the slot and will then rotate 1/4 turn. When I see this rotation, I reverse the Allen wrench and tighten the screw until snug.

Keymod was easier to install accessories , but it was ugly so nobody wants it.
