remember seeing this movie as a teenager in the theater... everyone loved it! the kids would run to the stage and dance at the end of the movie... if it was a mess, it was a glorious one!

Longtime favorite film, ever since I saw its NYC TV premiere (on a local station, oddly, it wasn't sold to the major 3 networks). And in the early 90s I happily told Burt Bacharach himself how much I loved the score (I used to be a limousine rep at LAX), and how frustrating the vinyl LP was out-of-print. He mailed me a homemade cassette of the soundtrack, with the sound of the stylus touching the vinyl at the start ! I like to think the master composer did that for me personally, but even it was an assistant of his....pretty damn special for me! Maybe a year later I returned the favor, in a way, when I told him the CD was finally out, and he didn't know that. I told him to stop by a Marina del Rey music store on his way home to Santa Monica from LAX to pick it up, where I got mine. Nice to hear the music throughout this documentary.

The film is totally NUTS, but it still makes me smile every time it's on the tv.

I wouldn't underestimate Casino Royale. The World has caught up with it. After many years I saw it again and funnily enough I thought, 'Not bad.' I think it has gathered an identity as surrealism.

Casino Royale (1967) is always my favorite film

I so remember this movie. I have seen some young people pan it but I loved it and still do. It was wacky but somehow it all came together. I was 14 when it came out and to see it I had to ride my bicycle to the theater an I sat through four showings. Of course we had no idea of the production problems but the end result was great.

I think "The making of Casino Royale" would make a fantastic movie along same the lines of "Ed Wood" or "Shadow of the Vampire." I believe with the right treatment and actors you could get academy award material.

Fabulous! I saw this film at what we then called "The Pictures" in Kingsbury, London at the age of eight. Looking at this documentary now, as an old bugger, I can see why it was such a patchwork quilt. Who knew Peter Sellers was such a crazy bugger? A fascinating piece of cinema history; love Val Guest's dry humour. Only thing that bugged me was the music playing ALL the time while people were talking.

Loved it when released saw it many times. Somebody has spliced Sean Connery and Orson Welles dueling at the Bacarrat table it’s on KZfaq just a few weeks ago.

One of the few movies I have probably casually watched at least 30 or 40 times. It's entertaining it has a lot of very interesting funny parts but you can ignore as much of it as you want. You don't have to follow it because none of it makes any sense. But I'd love to all of the actors and the sets and the action and the music was fantastic.

Was 11 when this came out, was as awful as it was great,I loved it, I loved the soundtrack, watched and listened a dozen times, my 2 young boys watched it, the colors ,the clothes even the furniture was so 60's, thanks for posting,, great stuff

A masterpiece....a time we'll never see again

The best part of this movie is Richard WIlliams' title design. It's up there with Saul Bass. Oh, and the music, for sure!

Enjoyable film mainly because of Burt Bacharach's great score. And Joanna Pettet and Deborah Kerr.

Ironically, Joseph McGrath looks here like Peter Sellers himself. I am a big fan of this movie. I've seen it over 10 times just for the feel and style of it. and for the music. And to see all these beautiful people in it. I've not seen any of other James Bond movies more than 1-2 times.

This is a truly great documentary. I just hope the people who made it benefit enough from their hard work.

This movie will be criticized till the end of time. But, we would not have had the Austin Powers series without it.

A lot gets made about the 'incoherence' of this film, but in all honesty, there have been some pretty incoherent 'serious' Bond films. How many times has Bond fetched up in some exotic location, with it not being especially clear why he is there or what he is doing. Soon it doesn't matter, because all hell breaks loose and you forget about what's gone before... just like in "Casino Royale".

I was hooked by the Soundtrack, one of the best ever. Also by Dahlia Lavi and Joanna Pettet. Couldn't resist that Eye Candy. Way too many Goofy Lines, but that was somewhat offset by David Niven's dialogues. Niven's speeches probably drove the film forward, more than anything else. What a professional

I, at age 14, went with my parents to see the movie in 1967. Two years ago, in 2018, I saw it again with my son, Paul, 33. It had gotten BETTER. I wish for all involved with the production to know it is the best James Bond film ever made.

I tried to watch the movie but didn't have the stomach to finish it. The only thing i like is the song "The look of love". That song deserved a better movie.

Feldman's Casino Royale(1967) was a campy mess. It felt like a parody of the 1960's spy movie-mania. The music score by Burt Bacharach and Herb Alpert is a keeper. EON got the Casino Royale film rights in the year 2000.

Wonderful insanity , joyous whimsy , self-deprecating sly silliness, call it what you will . A film such as Casino Royale can never be made again . We take ourselves much , too much F-ing serious . And we are poorer for it.
