What he is saying: I’m hot. You’re not. I’m not attracted to you. I’m attracted to me. And will only consider someone as hot and superficial as me. And even if I do find them, I’ll still only be in love with me. Bc I’m hot. And I’m definitely shallow and will always be shallow. He’s too scared to admit that. It’s socially unacceptable.
@avid9530

He’s way too scared to admit who he is. The words he is saying about convicting her of not being honest, is how his mother convicted him. I think his response is him constantly having to hide from his mother. And all the intellectualism was to be socially acceptable. Basically a scared boy with a narcissistic mother, who never grew up nor never knew how to truly express his feelings. Of course he is shallow, bc he was only seen shallowly. Raised around shallow people who never let him express deep real feelings. It’s actually a very sad case.

My Husband is very Handsome. Now. He wasn't always though. When he was you ger he was awkward and goofy. Big ears, nose, and lips. All arms and legs. Just... awkward. Goofy. Huge front teeth that stick out at weird angles and have brown decay on them. But I loved him. And I found him attractive despite alllll that. Then I began to put on a tiny bit of weight. And we got married. And our sex life ended. That was 13 yrs ago. He has grown into his arms, legs, ears, and nose. And I think his teeth are cute. 😂 His lips are perfect for kissing... But he hasn't kissed me in years. And only a few times since marriage. We've had sex less than 10 times in 13 yrs. He has told me he's just not attracted to me. All bc I'm not a size zero or age 25 anymore. So he wanted me when I was the hot one... but now he doesn't want me bc he thinks he's better I guess? He's tall and skinny. Has a good job. He's not bad to me. He's just shallow and selfish. He has no personality. I'm honestly so close to giving up and getting a divorce. My hearts been broken too long.

It is a huge red flag for me when people use “big words” for no real reason or speak in circles to sound intelligent or deep. I immediately know I don’t want them in my life. I work at a Harvard associated hospital - I mainly copy-edit protocols written by doctors for cancer research. These are some of the top doctors in the world. NONE of them speak like this - either in person or in their academic writing. A real sign of intelligence or deep thinking is the ability to convey complicated topics in a way everyone can understand. This guy manages to explain simple things in the most convoluted way possible and it makes my head explode. 🤦‍♀️

Sure, I mean anything anyone says we can all think up a scenario where it doesn't hold.. that's not really making a point. It's one-upping in the cheapest, laziest way possible. I thought he was just very cringe, but wow, that gaslighting at the end is disgusting, and it demonstrates that his word salad is intentionally confusing. it's a dominance thing - he dares people to call him out on making no sense, and when they don't, and go along with pretending that it makes sense, they start to doubt their own thinking and perception, and ideally end up thinking that he is much smarter than them, and doing what he tells them to do without questioning. cult leaders do this a lot.
