John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming Churchill was born in Hong Kong, and graduated from the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in 1926. He would later earn the nickname “Mad Jack” or “Fighting Jack” for fighting with a longbow, bagpipes, and a sword in World war two.

That would have caused the germans to take major hits to their moral. Just imagine you lose an entire regiment, spy comes back and tells you how they captured your men with a sword and a bow and arrow. That would break me man. I give my soldiers these state of the art guns, and they lose to a fricken bow and arrow. Thats like going into an MMORPG and you like DUDE I GOT GUNS IM OP HAHA and the level 900 with bow maxed out just one hits your entire army.

During his later years he would take a train home from work. Passengers would be shocked when he opened a window and tossed his briefcase into a garden along the tracks and then he would get off the train, walk home and go out into his garden and pick up his briefcase. He lived beside the tracks and so decided it was easier to throw his case into his garden instead of carrying it home. The train driver was apparently in on it

This makes perfect sense. I’ve often thrown my work bag from a moving consist. Heck, jumped off them too even though it’s not ohs etc. the tricky bit is the ballast. It’s like Big Sand and not nice on unexpected ankles. You need to lace your boots decently tight.

The guy that was trapped on an island that thought the war hadn’t ended yet, was actually a Japanese soldier found in Papua New Guinea 20 years after the war had finished. So would make sense that these 2 should fight

the lads under his command were just as nutty. one of them crawled up to some german defences and literally stole one of the germans hats. apparently the german kicked up a fuss and accused his fellow soldiers of stealing it. when asked why he stole the hat the soldier simply replied that he liked it

I'm Palestinian on my dads side and I know my great grandfather grew up during his time and worked with the British during the mandate. I was told he was best friends with a high ranking British officer who taught him combat techniques and I think that person could have been Mad Jack.

One of the clearest memories I have in elementary school was learning about WW2. And had an interest in archery at the time I asked my teacher if bows were ever used in WW2. When I found out that you were going to make a video on mad Jack or Jack Churchill, I fought I would watch some videos to find out about him as I was curious. However all of the videos I watched were nowhere near as informing and accurate as this one. I love the animations it gives a visual representation as well which is something other history channels don’t do. I thought the video was great and better than I expected.

Well it's not like they're going to make up stuff about him, history videos are meant to be FACTUAL, and most history vids use online sources. To make matters better, simple history makes their vids bite sized, making them fun to watch without taking up too much time. Simple History is BRILLIANT
