How is it that this song from1970. 51 years ago still sound like it’s futuristic? I was 14 then. Now 65. It still sounds like something for 2040. And I love that. Plus it’s not the only Bowie song that give this feeling.

@nashvillevaper52398 жыл бұрын
+RaptorRoll - Just wondering something. Have you lost a parent to death? Or a spouse? Or a close friend? If not, your question is understandable in the sense that you really don't have a way to comprehend why people react the way they do when an important person in their life passes. If so, did you just shrug your shoulders and say, "oh well, people die every day" and go on your merry way? Surely not. Bowie's death was a "shock" to many because 1) His illness was only known by a very small number of people...it was not public knowledge. 2) To many people, he was more than just a talented entertainer. He touched the hearts and minds of quite a few people and his music was a big part of their lives. So, even though they didn't know him personally, they felt the impact of his death personally.

The proof (plural of proof is proof, not proofs) has to come from the people who argue it does it exist. If I said there was a magical entity called a "ek", you couldn't disprove it's existence but you shouldn't believe me because i've provided no evidence of it's existence. The same goes for God, Heaven, Hell, Fairies, etc. There is no evidence of their existence so you have to be pretty gullible to believe in them.

I think its decent but I wouldn't say 10 out 10.. I mean Bowie is one of the greatest artists ever but he wrote the album when he was 22-23 and much like Hunky Dory its far far from being flawless and while the foundations of what would eventually become quintissentially Bowie are certainly there, its still quite unclear.

We lost a bright star the day you left, David. Your Ziggy tour was my first concert ever. Philadelphia. I remember it like yesterday. Miss you. Your music will always be in my heart and you are right there next to it. Peace to you, a gentle soul.

We will forsake our countries. We will leave our motherlands behind us and become one with this earth. We have no nation. No philosophy. No ideology. We go where we're needed. Fighting not for country, not for government, but for ourselves. We need no reason to fight. We fight because we are needed. We will be the deterrent for those with no other recourse. We are soldiers without borders, our purpose defined by the era we live in. We will sometimes have to sell our selves and services. If the times demand it, we will be revolutionaries, criminals, terrorists, and yes, we may all be headed straight to hell. But what better place for us than this? It is our only home. Our heaven, and our hell. *This...is Outer Heaven.* -Big Boss

We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when, although i wasn't there, he said i was his friend, which came as some surprise. i spoke into his eyes, "i thought you died alone a long long time ago." "oh no, not me, i never lost control you're face to face with the man who sold the world." i laughed and shook his hand and made my way back home, i searched for form and land, for years and years i roamed. i gazed a gazley stare at all the millions here: "we must have died alone, a long long time ago." "who knows? not me, we never lost control. you're face to face with the man who sold the world." "who knows? not me, we never lost control. you're face to face with the man who sold the world.

Hello There You are WRONG about all your 'corrections'- It is 'form and land" and it is 'gazed a gazely stare at all the millions here". Don't make corrections when you don't actually know.

Like opening a diary, every song seems like an old friend. Evoking memories of people,places and feelings. So many feelings. Some forgotten until the music plays. What a wonderful thing for somebody to give me. Looking at all of the beautiful comments people are leaving and the huge, and very honest outpouring of sadness at his passing, I'm guessing i'm not alone in feeling somebody very special has gone.

This is my favorite version, Nirvana did do a great cover but you really can't beat the atmosphere/aesthetic of the original song. I love this so much
@galvaradodurand4 жыл бұрын
Opino lo contrario, la atmósfera acorde a la canción es impuesta por los instrumentos de cuerda en el unplugged de Nirvana. Los aplausos en esta versión desmejoran la canción, creo.
