I enjoyed this lesson. This is my 3rd viewing. I would add Fula to the list, making it seven. I say this because just as you confirmed the Yisrael=Canaanite correlation is the same with the Mande and Fula. They were rivals (ethnic conflicts) on the one hand and allies (intermarry) on the other hand, alternatively over the centuries. My direct paternal line arose from this admixture. Just something to consider...

Base on my studies many of the Manden/Manding ethnic groups are indeed descendants of the tribe of Dan while the house Judah are among the Soninke. The Jews/Yahudym that joined them later understood they were Israelites based on Israelite records so did the other Israelite royals among them that migrated there to live with them was just israelites reuniting.

There is so much information on most African tribes online and their culture, role in conquest, slavery, etc. Other sites are just dedicated to their own myths of origin. This should help diasporans understand the complex African tribal identities and the source of the animosity displayed over long historical periods.

Can you provide the source for the Mande leaving Judea? What were they called when they left?
@ngang19574 жыл бұрын
the conclusion of the mande's exit from Judea is based on deductive reasoning based on drawing parallels between the soninke's (and the rest of the mande's) previous worship of a snake god and the israelite's worship of a snake god circa 700 bc. sourcing the events of 2 Kings 18 (which happened in circa 700 bc), we now have the two push factors for the mande's migration to Egypt. He explains this reasoning at 21:01. extra source: porten, bezalel. archives from elephantine: the life of an ancient jewish military colony. berkely: university of california press, 1968 "there were thus three distinct periods when jews, israelites and judahites, might have settled in egypt. (1) the thirty-five year period from the syro-ephramitish war of 735 until the seige of jerusalem in 701 and perhaps again later; (2) the middle of the seventh century when manasseh joined egypt in an attempt to throw off assyrian rule; and (3) the period of almost thirty years between the accession of jehoiakim in 609 and the flight to egypt led by johanan b. kareah after the assassination of the governor gedaliah b. ahikam ( jer. 41-43)." it was within this period of unrest in the near east due to assyrian and babylonian wars/invasions that spawned israelite settlement in egypt. historically and culturally you see that the reasoning lines up.

Is the Bambara tribe Levites ?
@firstresurrectionfellowship5 жыл бұрын
I do not know. When Christ returns at his second coming he will separate the Levites unto himself. Ezekiel 40:46 "And the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near to the Lord to minister unto him." Ezekiel 44:9-11 King James Version (KJV) 9 Thus saith the Lord God; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel. 10 And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity. 11 Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.
