Mullet haircuts were popular in Sri Lanka from around the late 80s till the mid 90s in Sri Lanka. Those guys you met probably never changed their hairstyle.

I love how you are genuinely interested in people and want to help. What got me invested in your vids is the ones where you helped out that kid in the Philippines. Absolutely beautiful mate. I also just love travelling and have done a fair share of it myself - so it's awesome to watch you just roaming around doing your thing.

@@marcoroamsI can tell. Just a genuine interest in the world and people. NZ isn't that much different from Aus bro. Same culture, lingo, and all that jazz pretty much. But if you haven't been, come on mate. It's a beautiful country. When I got back to NZ - my first thought was "I want to explore this now". I roamed around for a bit and realised that there is no place like this... Some other interesting countries are Mongolia, Jordan, and Greenland. Iceland is pretty cool too. I'm liking the addition of narration - you weren't doing this when I last watched. Good shit mate.

@@dadmum yeah it’s beautiful. Only reason it’s not on my list right now is because of the costs, but yeah I will get there one day and explore. I like the narration too, tells a little story and takes you on a journey you can do with the footage, kind of like a voice after it happened explaining stuff.

narang is the origin of the word for orange. In sri lanka ,narang is used to describe a mandarin! An orange is called "dodang" which is strangely the name for the colour orange but sri lankan oranges are green. Thank you for the interesting tour of Kandy

watched a documentary once where a group of surgeons were doing surgery for free to help people with distorted limbs, tree limb type growths on their hands and feet etc. ............. most did not want the surgery as begging and pity was their total income.

husband speaking Mr. Marco - I have been wondering when the next story was coming. My first 2 or 3 trips to Cebu, my wife's Aunt, would wake us up at 6am, and 3 days a week we would go to church. A different one each time. A little over religious for me - but, on Sunday's the LEPERS were allowed to line the street to the big churches and beg for a few coins. As soon as you give to one, all of them would rush you. I haven't seen any for the last 20 years or so. Perhaps there are too many tourists and that is not a good optic.
