Lingyi wasn't having them write off his wife. He understood her stabbing him was a mistake and was ready and capable of lying to protect Shiyi. This was his one chance at happiness, even with all the bumps along the way, but he believed in her and he was in for a penny, in for a pound. Though they don't have the Western marriage vows "for better or worse" Lingyi displayed that in his actions towards his wife.

Other than Shiyi, the only other good person throughout the whole show was the 2nd Madam. The Marquis’s brother was too easily manipulated and his wife was a diva. The others were all too selfish and evil.

That's not true, Shiyi's brother loved her and stood up for her to his evil mother. Shiyi's maid was very loyal and loving and she ended up marrying the deputy general and he was a good person as well. Amber got tricked and manipulated but she was a good person also. Shiyi's other sister and brother-in-law were good they just were not good at doing business. Shiyi's mentor was a good person. Shiyi's mother was a good person even though she was murdered early in the drama.

Honestly, Wen nor Qin saw Shiyi stab the Marquis they only assumed she did it because when they walked in she had blood on her hands and the shears were close to her. They walked in after everything happened. But Wen wanted her gone so she would have lied anyway.
