Yes, he definitely learned his lesson. While she was describing how much their meal cost...Shiyi is doing the opposite. She values her food rather or not it's cheap/expensive. The way he looked at her when she was talking about the value of things is so endearing. This man can't help but fall in love with his beautiful wife. My man definitely want the clothes made by her hands. Zhaoying is so confused. The GM already bought him new clothes but he prefers Shiyi's. His reaction after she compliments him...is priceless. He is so cute. She made his day with her compliment. He's on cloud nine after hearing his wife say that he would look good in anything he wears. Her one compliment meant the world to him.

She is able to see beauty in simple things, for her beauty / value is not equated to a monetary equivalent / status. Appreciate and love your wife even more. @@Irynash11 yes the way he manipulated the situation shows just how well he knows his wife. She's has a strong belief system. When she told the steward to tell him that she can't accept money that she hasn't earned...it shows that her actions to rectify the moldy rice matter wasn't a big deal in her eyes. She was doing her duty as the matron to protect the Xu family. She didn't consider it a big deal...worthy of praise. In his eyes it was a huge deal. He wasn't rewarding her for saving the Xu family. He was rewarding her for her integrity. She refused to partner with the Wen family to make money. It's something that impressed him because Yuanniang would've accepted their offer in a heartbeat. Her honesty impressed him. He wanted to show his appreciation for all that she has done for him/the family. Yes, his dinner with Shiyi was vastly different from the dinner he had with concubine Wen. He learned a lot about Shiyi's appreciation for the simple things. It's not about the monetary value to her/that's different from Wen. She counted how much the entire meal cost..trying to impress him. It only turned him off/made him run away as fast as he could...lol He actually stayed/listened to Shiyi's explanation about the dishes she loved. He can't help but fall in love with her during every encounter. Yes, the entire manor has selective amnesia when it comes to Lingyi's feelings for Shiyi. General Fu, Zhaoying, Dongqing and Amber are the only ones that knows how these two feel about each other. The GM can't admit the truth to herself because it means giving up her fantasy that Lingyi will finally accept Lianfang. She's deceiving herself/Lianfang at this point.
