About the 2061x, there was a vintage amp called 2061 (Lead & Bass) you can hear one on the Johan Segborn channel. You'll find no mention of the model in the catalogs from the years it was available (1968 -1973) but The History of Marshall: the First 50 Years indicates that it is listed in circuit diagrams from Marshall. The 2061 utilizes two ECC83 preamp tubes and a matched pair of EL84 power tubes with a solid state rectifier. It was hand wired throughout its production run and was reissued recently as the 2061x. This clean 1972 Marshall Lead-Bass 20 Watt no. 2061 has survived in excellent condition and has just been bench tested by our trusted amplifier technician. It appears to be original except for a replaced grounded power supply and replaced tube socket springs. The tubes are recent Tung Sol EL84s and ECC83s. Our technician cleaned the potentiometers and jacks and bench tested. It performed beautifully throughout our testing. We're confident you'll love this rare 1972 Marshall Lead-Bass 20w 2061!

One of the very best things for me to totally master any subject is when I teach it to someone else. Pretty hilarious how much you can learn if you try to prove something. Pretty hilarious how much money it costs for different models of speakers, 2024 was supposed to be the Year Of The Marshall here, but it seems like the budget is going to break down just filling up speaker boxes 📦 maybe next year.

Τhe Sv20 sounds like it has less headroom and more mids than then 1959. For 20 watts , its as good as it gets. Usable and with an authentic feel. The bigger amps do sounds better but their volume is both a blessing and a curse at the same time This is the moment where I must admit I own a Sv20c myself.

The Marshall 1959 is my favorite because unlike the 1987x (I’ve owned) the 1959 is a fatter sounding version.. I’ve owned a bunch of different models inMarshall’s line up…JMP, JCM800, and a 1987x and a few other non tube and hybrid tubes, Valve-state, MOSFET 100, JMD… The 1959 I’ve owned is a reissue from the year 2000, it’s now modified so I don’t need a patch cable to jump the two channels together, it’s done internally…Also have extra gain stages added to each volume control by adding diodes which act as a boost… Mine screams for what it is and the 1959 works great using distortion pedals and overdrive pedals…It’s a versatile format

I´ve hear the Super Lead 100 Watts actually measures more, it’s around 120 something Watts, Marshall have just brand it as 100, but it’s a little bit more! Can´t even contemplate the sound in the room Budda, I´ve listen the episode with headphones and I´ve truly felt sorry for you when you pulled the Strat on the Super Lead (I supposed the pre of the mic was just all over the reds, no need to fight for gain at all!). At the end, love the quick review on the Studio 20. For me since I´m not a PRO musician and I play a lot at home, it’s an amp that it’s been on my mind for a while, since I´ve some noise restrictions. For me the studio 20 its great amp for those who like me, play at home and love tube amps, Marshall sound, can blend between the two channels, plug it in any cab, it has an FX LOOP and a DI to plug into an OX or a Two Tones for instance. What more can you ask? Off topic: I would love a review from you on the Fender Supersonic 22, on the last Braga Blues 23, I´ve listen to Cesare Nolli playing with this amp. It´s another one that it is on my mind. That gig blew my expectations, the vintage overdrive it was just awesome!!

Wear a set of headphones for a noise buffer. That's what Johan S does when he cranks a Super Lead. Or there's the Fryette Power Station, OX Box, Captor X, etc.

I know. But why have an amp and not use it?

I love the relationship between a nonmaster volume amp (straight tube path) and a guitar, and the reason why is it becomes crucial to ride the volume and tone knobs when a Plexi is cranked to get different tones, and a symbiotic relationship happens there. Hendrix is the go-to for that, he used to turn down and then kick in his fuzz, so the volume didn't change so much as the tone did and sustain, he was always riding the volume and tone knobs. On the treble channel I do need to crank it to avoid shrilly high notes, but when it's there it's perfect. A good attenuator is a must if you have neighbors. My Plexi is a reissue and it's great because it has a send/return in the back, and I run a Surfy Bear large reverb tank through that, as I want that to come after the preamp, works best for a dirty amp. Keep the 100w Superlead, but get a good attenuator to get that sound.

I think if you are going to do a Marshall demo video you would be better served by using a Marshall 4x12 cabinet with Celestion 25 watt 75 hertz greenbacks. This is the usual pairing when using a plexi. I do appreciate the video however.

JTM-1 is my jam, and your video helped me decide, so thanks for that. I would love to play through a Marshall stack sometime, but probably not in my little home. I wanted the Vox sound, but even an AC-15 is way too loud, so I found a Vox JMI AC-10 head, just perfect, and I hope the JTM-1 will be too (not here yet)!

I have an early 2000s JCM 2000 full stack. I have a second identical head on top of a jcm 800 cab from 1983. And I have my 75 MK2 on top of a 74 and 78 cabs all original speakers. I also have a h&k triamp mk2 on a late 90s mesa cab. Nothing beats the older gear. Sorry

Great run through your beauties Budda - That SV20 is still pretty loud but such a great sound. I can only imagine that 1959 SLP driving 412's - as you say, physically difficult to play and be in the same room. Have you considered a Fryette PS-100 for that brute SLP?

Mike Doyle said those things were volume monsters. My jmp 2204s are pretty loud, but I'd like to hear a '72 super lead at full song. Not for too long, you only get one set of ears. What kind of power tubes?

You don't know what your talking about, every Marshall since the Jtm45 is just watered down,Jtm 45 is the best fattest tone you can get. They had to switch to the plexi cause they couldn't get kt66 tubes for the 45,but just my opinion. You didn't even trun the jtm45 up,it sounds alot different on ten.

Your opinion can be said in a less abusive manner. Budda spent much time bringing everyone this content. He is a very good player with great feel which is refreshing to hear as so many reviewers on you tube can’t play very well. Perhaps you should overlook small incorrect details and get the larger picture. If you have something to add to rectify history, great but be positive.
