It wasn't hard to see where the MCU was going after watching End Game (a prophetic title if ever there was one) four years ago. Inevitable that Captain "I'm Better Than You" and her strong, diverse, powerful female character women squad would help to bury a franchise suffering over-saturation and a terminal case of "modern sensibilities."

I got serious Kids in the Hall vibes from the opening skit…

“Reviewing a product, not a movie” is a GREAT way to sum it up. There is NO singular creative vision. It is packaged, labeled and marketed after board approval. And I still give it a high rainbow… but they are getting a little more subtle with it. More like “showing” the audience rather than “telling”.

Man the intro alone killed me. Subbed. Also I especially love how Iman Velani who was perhaps somewhat likeable - then destroyed all that goodwill when she chose to dunk on the fans for not liking it as is the usual Disney spiel these days. Apparently when she personally reviewed Captain Marvel she gave it a 2/5 😀

There's agenda in front of the camera, and there's agenda behind the camera - this one was more about agenda behind the camera in terms of whom the hired, etc. Who was your favorite significant white male character in the film? It's odd to me more people don't notice that. Generally, they tried to merge or as I like to say 'transition' two genres that don't belong together - the tween girly-girl film genre and the masculine superhero film genre and it just doesn't work, and I can't think of where it has ever worked. If Endgame had included kittens, slumber parties, girl bosses, a k-pop dance scence, and girl bonding time maybe this movie would seem less odd but some genres just don't go together. Imagine 'Princess Diaries' with bloody combat scenes, mass destruction, sexy women, scary aliens, etc. - sorry no, these things don't go together to form mass audience appeal, it's dumb. And yes, Brie looked okay in her tank top, but that's not a sufficient substitute for a Johannsen, Smulders, Saldana, etc., who you think about banging every time she's on screen for the entire time she's on screen. Larson is someone who you'd borrow her phone just to delete your number after the seventh time she talks 'the patriarchy' on the first date.

Whether Ive seen the film or not, these are always a blast to watch! Man I absolutely love the spirit of this channel, just 2 regular dudes who saw a piece a shit and need to tell people about it

Everyone took their cues off Guardians of The Galaxy and to a lesser extent Deadpool, and tried to jam that style of humor into their superhero movies. They stopped taking the characters and the plot stakes seriously. Movies designed by woke directors and writing groups furthered this problem.

She just wants justice for Mrs. Marvel destroying her home. Let’s not forget black girl magic with Monica Rambeau who is somebody. Monica has dramatic past with Mrs. Marvel for some reason. Next Bollywood planet enters the scene. The best part was Nick Fury frolicked with alien kittens. Meow Disney, I’m done with you. Oh wait, Mrs. Marvel can also power up the sun and no I’m not kidding! My score is undetermined because it’s not worth the time to score.

Disney brought this on themselves. No need to feel bad for them.

Iron Man: Iron Heart Thor: Mighty Thor Captain America: Captain Carter Black Panther: Shuri as Black Panther Doctor Strange: Clea (Maybe in the future) Spider-Man: Madam Web introducing some Spider-Women Ant-Man: Wasp and Stinger, Loki: Sylvie Hulk: She-Hulk Hawkeye: Kate Bishop. I don't have any problem with female superheroes, but I've noticed that most of them feel like forced characters. Even the teased Young Avengers team in this movie consists mainly of female characters. The possible Young Avengers team could include Iron Heart, Kate Bishop, Ms. Marvel, Stinger (Ant-Man's daughter), Hulk's son Skaar (teased in She-Hulk ending scene), and America Chavez. After watching "The Marvels" movie, I feel disconnected from the original Marvel Cinematic Universe, as all these characters lack proper development compared to our original Avengers, with whom fans have a strong emotional connection. I'm done with the M she U and will not waste my time watching such idiotic stuff.

I read somewhere that Capitan Marvel 2 was supposed to be completely different. Rogue was gonna be the "Villian" that fights Capitan Marvel. Wolverine ( the new one, new actor) was supposed to show up at the end blah, blah, blah. Idk? It would've been a better film.

Disney didn't just tarnish the Marvel brand, they utterly wrecked it up to the point that even comic sales are suffering drastically and the legacy, value, status, impact and meaning of its characters is being severely affected. Can the brand recover from such heavy damage? I sure hope so, but that still remains to be seen. If the brand's current state is the price for 10 years of MCU success, then for me the MCU really didn't have to exist. The damage they have done to brand up to this point is of such nature it's nigh irreparable and if, I say 'if' they (or hopefully others) ever manage to do so, this will remain as a big ugly scar on the brand forever. Indelible, like a brandmark. This isn't just about one bad and/or hokey movie and/or TV series from before the MCU, this is way waaay beyond everything that preceded the MCU and was deemed bad and/or hokey. This is a real value, status, impact- and meaning kind of brand damage that could- and most likely will have a lingering effect. I dare go as far as to say that Marvel probably can't and never will be the same ever again. In my opinion... Marvel should have just doubled down on the fun of it and just made it a straight up comedy. They have been talking about making movies in other genres, it would have been the perfect opportunity to make a really fun light harted parody of the superhero film genere, have the cameos of the other heroes/movies we all love, maybe give some of the "Young Avengers" some screen time. Then use the after/mid credit scenes to give it a connection to Kang Dynasty or something more serious that is going on in the MCU. I enjoyed the 90's Xmen qnd Justice League (DC) stories where they were like "we do normal people stuff too" would have been a cool opportunity to explore that concept. Maybe take some ideas from "Damage Control" and "What The--!?" comics.

The only problem with Marvel's movies is that the seats face the screen.

With that last feminism rating...you aren't acknowledging all of the subtle messaging. That's their new tactic for pushing the agenda messaging. Not overtly saying things, but just showing them with context cues. Like the seemingly random inclusion of valkyrie...that wasn't so random at all. The kiss on the cheek that she and danvers had. They are experimenting with dialing back on overt statements but instead going with a more subtle/subliminal messaging strategy to push the message. Like they never say anything negative about fury in this one, but you already noted the consistent cucking they do to him with how they portray him and what they have him relegated to doing. Like the whole premise of why rambeau is upset with danvers...that whole thing about "auntie" carroll abandoning her and her mom...and no father ever being even mentioned in that reference...just screams mommy+mommy vibes like america chavez in multiverse of madness. Mommy number 2 went out for some cigarettes and never came back. I've heard of this referenced as "gay coding"...where all the cues and indicators are inserted instead of actually showing full on scenes and words. I'm pretty sure that's what that phrase of "higher, farther, faster" or whatever it is, is really is about...just code words for it.

Just found your channel. It's amazing how quickly the MCU has crashed. Its over and we dont even realize. One film in 2024, in a rational world we'll never see a Young Avengers with Kamala, Kate, America, Cassie and Riri. Rationality is coming in 2024, ironically with Deadpool.

Marvel should have taken at least a one year break after End Game, instead they have been pumping out several movies and tv shows every year. Of course the quality would go down and when you need to see at least two tv shows and a couple of films to get into the characters and storyline a lot of people will loose interest. For die hard Marvel fans this film maybe makes more sense (or does it?!), but for everyone else it’s just all over the place. The biggest sin it commits is the convenient lazy writing that leads to badly drawn characters and motivations which make me wonder, did they really want to make this film apart from filling a scheduled slot that said "Captain Marvel 2"? Did Disney plan to excuse every bad review by going on the Barbie train "if you don’t love this film, you’re a misogynist!"? That said, it is better than Eternals and Ant-Man 3, but so is slamming your hand in a car door. Anyways, if this movie didn’t exist I wouldn’t have seen your brilliant review of it. So I guess it was worth it somehow. Great work as always, guys! 😊

Until they start actually writing a decent script, and casting correctly for talented actors meant for the parts they play. Also getting a Director with experience in the type of film your shooting wouldn't hurt. This movie felt like it was made so Disney could hit on there woke bingo card. Disney plus gaining 7million in subscribers last year but, worst viewer ship ever in history is fishy and Disney as a whole is a terrible company right now .

You guys should add some name card inserts like a typical television talk show, or try to use each other's first name more often than "you, we, us". I've watched 5 reviews in a row and laughed my ass off but I have no idea what your names are yet, which makes it difficult to explain your individual characteristics. "Remember the guy with the red sneakers said..... " I'd sprinkle in your first names several times during every episode. It will help the audience identify with your characters more effectively.
