And THIS is why I never gave up on Matrix Explained. For the past few days I was thinking about how sad it was that Resurrections would be the final farewell. So this is amazing news; almost unbelievable. Hats of to Matrix Explained for continuing after the Resurrections flop. I actually still watch Resurrections; starving for anything Matrix oriented. This video just made my day/week/year. Matrix Explained has a bright future! I'm so excited!

I wish the new director would describe the whole Matrix Resurrection movie as a modal simulation glitch within the Matrix.

The reason why this franchise had such an impact… was because there was so much truth…. As long as that truth is expanded… I think it will be profound.

My hopes for this one: 1. Neo with short hair and shaved face 2. Hugo Weaving's Smith vs. Jonathan Groff's Smith 3. Trinity flying 4. Faster reflexes for fight scenes 5. Exploring the city of IO 6. Kid's return as an old man 7. Visiting the graves of people who died including the Battle of Zion, including Mifune 8. Flashbacks during the time gap in between Revolutions and Resurrections, with Laurence Fishburne's return as Morpheus 9. Maybe a scene where someone in IO, raising a good Sentinel like a pet. 10. Payoffs to ceratin lines the characters have said. 11. "As long as the Matrix exists, the human race will never be free." Will the Matrix be destroyed at last?

I still think a streaming series would be a smarter option than more films. At least it would give them more time draw out the story and the universe.

I think Matrix 5 should ask the question if living in a virtual reality controlled by both man and machine is better than a life in reality. A movie where the matrix is actually at peace but Neo must decide if humanity is better off in the simulation or without it. The story ends with him ending the matrix for good, or continuing it... Cipher was always my favourite character, I actually understand why he'd choose the fantasy life "I know what you're thinking, why oh why, didn't I take the blue pill!" It could also mock Warner Bros for wanting to continue the franchise, like we saw in Resurrections. I really hope this new video game ties into the actual story somehow and isn't just a "the game of the movie" type of deal

A spin off? A live-action of The Second Renaissance right up to the enslavement of humans in the Matrix would be awesome because they can pull from all current AI events happening with robotics, GPT, all of that would fit right in to that story.

Well… I’m glad they’re going with another writer and director. Maybe… just maybe it will be good this time. My thoughts is they don’t have to bring back any characters we know and love, they can tell a whole new completely different story from Neo’s story. They can do what the animatrix did with telling a story within the world of the first movie or three but something new but have that feel what the first movie did. Fingers crossed 🤞🏾

First thing I did was to check the date to make sure this video wasn't released on April Fool's Day. I really didn't expect this. Well, I am looking forward to seeing the direction of this new movie. I am a little concerned that it is not being written by either of the Wachowskis. However, I feel like the original trilogy and also Resurrections said everything that initially they (Original Trilogy) and Lana (OT and Resurrections) wanted to say with their films. Having Lana on as executive producer will hopefully result in this movie still remaining true to the spirit of the franchise, although I expect it will go in a new direction. "Wachowski Matrix" feels complete. Matrix by other people has potential. I don't expect it to be as good as the originals or as "meta" as Resurrections, but at least it will hopefully be a respectable continuation of the wonderful and complex world of The Matrix franchise.

I am worried, but excited by this news, it’s unfortunate that the wachowskis wont direct. Lana being involved as executive producer (which can mean a lot of influence, or no influence at all depending on the production) is promising. I think they should explore a previous One or the one after Neo, and bring back the visual language and breathtaking action.

What can I say, the last one was more like a filler in Naruto I hope if this is true, they change the story to encompass the original Trilogy, now that AI is trending it would be based on some sort of story about it or like you said how the matrix was built by AI.

They need to just make a prequel. I’m interested in the stories that led to all this.

I could see a 3 moves set around The Second Renaissance. 1 The good time 2 The war 3 The start of the Matrix all set from the machine point of view. being very interesting.

This announcement came at the perfect time since the first Matrix movie turned 25 a few days before this. That type of planning actually gives me hope for the next installments more than it should. Hopefully we get to see some of the original cast again but I want Hugo Weaving as either Smith or a new Smith as he was the only program that bested Neo before the end of the war. I'm thinking Hugo Weaving could be used as a digital backup to when Smith was the best hunter of the redpills.

I am worried that they will tie into Dune. It sort of works with original Dune novels, but would almost certainly be terrible.

matrix needs to go back way before neo. they need to show how matrix was created rather than fighting agent Smith.

It took a few hours for this to sink in and allow myself to get excited. While I absolutely liked resurrections, we can probably all agree something about it feels “different” and it walks to the very edge of breaking the diegetic world the trilogy created. This is the best thing that could happen. When someone says “it’s not hyperbole that The Matrix changed my life…” I can only imagine how much the people who watch this channel can relate to that. The fact that someone with experience adapting hi concept sci-fi (the Martian), a well written meta genre film (cabin in the woods), and incredibly well done action storytelling (daredevil Netflix) is taking on this project… that bodes well… VERY WELL. Lana Wachowski as an executive producer ensures the film will be “canon” and fingers crossed if her involvement can encourage Chad Stahelski to come back and do the fight choreography this could be what we’ve all believed in for so long.
